Dazed and Confused

Hi All, I'm brand new to Trainz 12 and to put it mildly, I'm a bit overwhelmed. I'm pretty good with computers, but I've found this game to be difficult to use. I have two questions right now that I can't find answers for, if you can help, I would be grateful.

First, no where in the instructions does it explain coupler strain and how to read the display. I have no idea why I keep breaking couplers in the Mojave Sub route.

Second, I can not find anything explaining how to get the content you download into the game. I've downloaded an engine and a route. Now what? Where did it go and how do I get it into the game?

Thanks in advance and I apologize if these answers are somewhere and I just didn't see them.

One last, is there any good content out there for PA routes like the Harrisburg Line or Pittsburgh Line?

Do a search (above right) here for mojave sub, the coupler things been mentioned before. Basically your notching up to quick.
Locos and routes not showing, untick the show favorites button.

You should read this article http://www.alkrug.vcn.com/rrfacts/hp_te.htm, especially the last section on Accelleration. Remember a drawbar can only take about 390,000 lbs (195 tons). If you have a 10,000 ton train setting on a 1% grade you already have 100 tons force on the first couple. Trying to accellerate this too fast and something has to give.

As far as downloading content into Trainz, downloads have to be commited to get them into the games database. If you don't have Automatic commit select in your Settings - Miscellaneous, you'll have to manually commit after every download.

Thanks for all the help. I understand the forces on the couplers, I just don't understand how to read the display. What the number mean and such.

I don't think the numbers are as important as the colors - green = good yellow = okay red = bad. I'm one of them strange characters who likes little old road switchers like the GP9 and Alco RS11, so the five big heavy haulers at the front seem like overkill to me. What I found is start in notch 1, don't move to notch 2 until I hit 10mph, and if I leave it in notch 2 it will get up to the 40mph track speed quickly enough that I never need any more than that.
