CSX Berkshire Sub

Doolinator,

Same here-just ordered your great route. I was just looking at the Westfield Yard a month ago when I went to a huge model train show at the Big E. It was damn cold that day too. The yard was full of freight cars.

Received CD today

I received my cd this morning:)

Very fast for regular mail. I loaded up the route and it opened at a spot that I was very familiar with on Main street in Holyoke Ma. It was just north of the old railroad station and just south of the Holyoke dam.
What a coincidence I used to fish right off that bridge in the canal when I was a kid. I am running a big freight right now from Holyoke to Dalton. I don't need a map to know where I am on this route.:p

Thanks for all your work Roger. Great Job
Bob

I got my CD also, thanks for the quick shipping! What is a quick way to bring the content into TRS2006 using CMP? Importing the CDP files was easy, now I still have to move all the other folders.

Hi,

I don't have 2006 yet so I'm not familiar with the directory structure. Try posting a message on the forums addressing the problem.

I have 2006 and had no problems loading it up.

My framerates are very good also for a big detailed route like this.
It's really something to run over a route that you are familiar with. I know where I am before I read the signs along the tracks.
Even all the mountains are the perfect size for this area.
Roger did you use a dem program to make this route? If so it worked very well. I don't know how you put buildings and electrical stations right where they actualy are but you are right on the money. I drive all around this whole area a lot and now I can run trains all around it:)

Beautiful Job.

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback. I was hoping that it would meet good prototypical standards. I'm also glad that people who live in the area have found the detail to be accurate. Where I could I tried to match buildings and structures to their real world counterparts.

The base map was created in 4 stages with DEM generated hog maps. They were then merged together. I used Windows Live Local for the aerial closeups . I also used the Mass GIS data viewer that accurately displays tracks, roads, and streams graphically.

I hope that more people will pick up the this route. As you can see I'm only asking $4.00 to cover the cost to get it out to everyone. Not to mention you get so much on the CD.

Anyhow, I'm back to work on the next extension Palmer to Worcester. I don't want to give a release date for this, because you never really know how long it will take to create. One good thing is I should be able to keep this portion under 20Megs, hence should be up-loadable to the D/L station.

I'm going to post some more screen shots soon.

Thanks to all,
Doolinator

Lot of work for one guy!

This route was a lot of work for one man to do alone.

He's giving it away for 4.00 dollars. That does not even cover his time going to the post office.

Doolinator if you ever need anyone to do some testing I would gladly help you out. I have tested a few routes like Marias Pass, Clinchfield, Cajon Pass. MRL. and a few more. I know how much work is involved.
Just say the word and I'll go to work.

Thanks again for a great route.
Bob:)

Hello Doolinator,

I have just ordered your CD, your layout looks fantastic and I had no hesitation in purchasing off your site. Thank you and I look forward to playing this very soon.
Do you have any future projects in mind to turn into CD's please? I am sure you would receive a lot of positive feedback, if this CSX route plays as good as it looks.

Thanks again. ex-railwayman in the UK.

Doolinator,
Will the extension from Palmer to Worcester be able to merged or added to the CSX Berkshire Sub Route that you sent out by cd?
