This route was voted the winner of the 2007 route building competition.

Crewe south yard from the south west - a relatively quiet start to the day. The container depot top left, virtual quarry top right with carriage temporary sidings beyond.

The new A500 flies over the southern entrance to Crewe south yard - this view looking south with the main lines at the left.

Very, VERY, very impressive!

For TRS2004? And are all the assets from the Download Station (and where did you get the crane in the middle right of the first screen shot)?

Approaching Crewe from the Potteries. Carriage sheds beyond bushes on left.

The lines to Salop pass over the goods avoiding route to exit at the top, the entrance to the diesel motive depot middle left, the main lines from the south enter middle left and the Potteries line at the bottom. A class 86 light engine from the Crewe electromotive department waits to attach to the diesel hauled train from Blackpool which will complete its journey at London Euston.

In the background the goods avoiding lines from the south yard begin their descent into the underpass that will avoid the busy north end station approach. In front of those are the Chester goods avoiding lines that bypass the west of the station at the normal level. The signal bridge straddles the Salop lines. The main lines from the south pass below the footbridge used by staff to access the yards. The lines from the carriage sheds converge towards the station. Potteries lines emerge from bottom of picture.

Up Main heads for Birmingham and points south as far as London Euston.

From the left the tracks from the south yard converge with the Salop lines. Salop freight handling yard yet to be completed. In the lower picture the left lines go to the station and the right lines join the goods avoiding lines giving easy connection to the north and Manchester for goods traffic.

Your yard in the first pic looks pretty complex.

But...you ain't seen NOTHING until you've seen THIS!

lol Frankfurt, Germany's ICE yard. I'd LOVE to see someone model THAT in TRS.

Brilliant work segy! You've got a lot of skill in Surveyor by the looks of it. If you don't mind, could you tell me what track you are using for the main lines (light grey ballast)? Thankyou for sharing this.

Andrew :)

Thanks Andrew for the kind remarks. The track is JK Track A10-00-08 Concrete DP kuid2:122285:4107:10 which is compatible with Andi06 fixed junctions.

Crewe station looking from the south. The down main and Manchester goods avoiding lines pass in the cutting near top left with the Chester goods avoiding just in front. There are many unused platforms now but from the left the used ones are 12 (thru), 11 (thru), 8 (bay), 7 (bay), 6 (thru), 5 (thru), 4 (bay), 3 (bay), 2 (short bay) and 1 (thru).

A fine view of the southern end of the station from the south west.

Crewe northern end. Chester lines diverge to the left past the Crewe Railway Museum. The down main to Preston, Liverpool and other northern destinations dissappears in the middle distance whilst the Manchester lines exit right. The main goods avoiding lines emerge each side of the main tracks whilst both Manchester goods avoiding lines are on the west side of the main line.

Entering platform 6 going south. If anyone knows of any good content to represent the under-canopy buildings of a typical LMS main line station I would like to hear about it.

Approaching Crewe on the Up Slow. The goods avoiding lines diverge left and right.

I would like it to have aminated couplings but to be honest it's size and complexity pretty much makes up for them.;)

Brilliant work segy.:udrool:

By the way when is it going to be up for download?:D

I don't think so he has to keep up a record of every train that is suppost to go thou there because he needs to know where every train is suppost to go.:D I can't wait until I get messages running so that the trains can't turn the points themselves they must contact the signal man to change the points.

Segy i have to say that looks superb my friend, only problem is you will have to rip it up if they end up building a new Crewe station at Basford Hall !!
One small point Crewe was an LNWR station from 1845 before the LMS was invented so not strictly speaking LMS. and was rebuilt in 1861,
The LMS came into being in 1923,

AND FINALLY Ben signalmen are not contacted to set the points apart from orignal yard/station of departure or in case of wrong route setting or an emergency divversion where the driver need to be informed. not that i know much about these things as i have only done 30 years on the railway!!
