CP 2816 in Trainz

I'm actually working on one in Trainz. It is sort of a kitbash, the loco part. The tender is from the Royal Hudson. And I used that Empress whistle with it.

rwk, could you please send me a copy of your model? I'd like to make a few tweaks to this thing to make it look a lot like #2816.

The 3254 has several flaws, the bell is in the wrong position; no safety valve bonnet; side skirting is missing; the chimney has no air brake pipe; the superheater sits atop the boiler, whereas 2816's is slightly recessed; the smokebox has no feed water heater pipes on the side (behind the chimney), and may the smokebox be too short; the 3254 has handrails in the front; and on 2816 the side steps go down 1 step and then from side to side, running the width of the loco while 3254's go all the way down to the main frame and you step across on that. Not to mention the chimney is the wrong shape; it has too few dynamos and not enough piping. The 3254's piping from the superheater goes straight down, where as 2816's has 2 90 degree and gels and "jogs over" towards the chimney between 1 and 2 feet. The cylinders on 3254 also do not have the large steam supply pipes coming out of the smokebox side, as does 2816.
You should keep up your model it would be more accurate.

I know this is a little late, but the interior from N3V's set is in fact accurate for the PM 1225. C&O Kanawahas also have a wheel. A number of B&O, NYC and PRR engines used wheel's as well. So they kind of did do their research.

This is C&O 2716's cab:

And this is PM 1225's cab:

I got my locos confused, I was thinking Kanawha and then 261 at the same time, oops. It's what happens when you are posting and have other train thoughts/conversations occurring. I have seen the wheel before while on those engines, I apologise Steve, lying to the Trainz community.

Well I decided that (I'm sorry, Steve and USLW.:() I'll use CN 3254's Boiler. Btw, look closely. Do you see any differences?

better than nothing to reskin though.

Well, well, well....... Maybe I'll have to FIND a 4-wheeled-trailing truck instead.
Try the H1d Royal Hudson trailing truck from subpar, it's free and not payware, which the same reason you cannot use the Berkshire interior for 2816 is the same reason a piece of 1218 cannot be used, it should make your kitbash better than the one done awhile ago as a 2-8-8-2, did you do that one too, or was that someone else?

Anyways... here's a problem. How come the cylinders don't show up on bogeys?
That model may have the cylinders as part of the engine, as in the bogey just includes the rods and pistons, you have to design the cylinders and line up the bogey so that the rods go into the cylinders. The H1ds and H1es have a cylinder size of 2" larger than the H1bs too, but generally the bogey doesn't include cylinders, they are part of the model.

Pics or it aint happening. Usually taking on more projects without showing shots of even one generally means the person doesnt know what they are doing.

Well, thanks for the suggestion. Like some users build projects one by one, like Mr. Lerro, I try it, too. Although my mind is scrambling with other projects (besides the CPR H1b), like the NS Train 957 and SP&S 700 projects

Bro he posted pics! You shouldn't be talking either! Half the things you start you never finish!
