ContentManager extremly slow downloading

why is it so slow? i got a fast connection, but the content manager seems to be stuck in pre broadband, or even pre 56k dialup speeds, it's going at a stonking 4.69KBps! is there anyway i could speed this up? otherwise i'm going to be hear downloading a small file for the next few hours.

anyone else's the same?? slow downloading???

Currently it's downloading at 360Kbps here... UK.

For me that has always been the case. I think it is because Auran limits the bandwith if you don't have a download ticket. Do you have a first class ticket and still have problem?

nope just downloading without, i think your right they do limit the speed if you dont have a ticket.

The additional purchase of a First Class ticket enables you to download at ~350-400KB, rather than ~4-8KB.

It also helps the upkeep of both the free and the first class servers.

Hi - Im new to this. I must say, that if thats true ... that they slow down down load, to make me buy 'what' ?? After letting me pay 4 the game disk ... well I must say, I do considder throwing my disk with the litter..

Welcome to trainz.
The download speed without a FCT has been that speed for years, you don't have to buy one but if you download a lot using content manager or the DLS it's a must in my opinion.
Other content providers are jointed Rail, RR Mods, trainz pro routes, Romanian trainz studio, murmansk trains, trainz up, USLW and these are just a few. All you need to do is register.

I bought the ticket and activated it 3 days ago and the is no change in speed. DO NOT BUY!

Welcome to the forums and to Trainz. What you have stated is not true and it does work. I have had a First Class Ticket since I purchased Trainz over a decade ago. See my steps below.

If you have purchased and activated a First Class Ticket and still do not see the faster download speeds, go into Content Manager and empty any items in your download queue, close Content Manager, wait a minute, and restart your downloads again.

In the event that this does not work, open up the settings, re-enter your username. Close Content Manager, and restart again.

Actually the best way to do is to open content manager, delete your username and password, save and quit content manager then reopen CM, enter your username and PW and save and if should be fixed. This is what was recommended someplace on the forums and worked for me, my new install was terribly slow with my FCT but I knew this remedy from my first FCT and it works.
 
i think its a bit silly how slow these downloads actually are. the game itself is actually good but is let down by 8kpbs which is stupidly slow

Welcome to the forums and to Trainz. In order to download at higher speeds without the 100mb limit per day you need to purchase a First Class Ticket.

If you have purchased and activated a First Class Ticket and still do not see the faster download speeds, ensure you have activated it in your My Trainz Account.

If you are using TS12 and below, go into Content Manager and empty any items in your download queue, close Content Manager, wait a minute, and restart your downloads again.

In the event that this does not work, open up the settings, re-enter your username. Close Content Manager, and restart again.

In addition it appears your version of Trainz is not registered. If you have registered and your Trainz version icon does not appear next to your name on the track line, contact the helpdesk via the link above.

Mine does this as well. Buying a first class ticket is a robbery to me. Don't buy it unless you are desperate. I am fine with a 100MB limit, it can be easily cheated through. But speeds are just unbelievable. We should at least get 1 MBps.

Edit- I guess I haven't been around long enough to see the prices lower.
