content manager wont open

Try opening it from within the Auran folder. Go to C: => Program Files or Program Files (x86) => Auran => TS2009 => bin => Content Manager

Has worked for me. Good luck.

trainz 2009
and it worked before but then the last couple of days nothing has happened

and i got windows 7 ultimate, dunno if that has something to do with it

Check to make sure that none of your original settings have changed. You also need to run as administrator. Check security settings. CM needs access to the internet and open GL (graphics) in order to work properly.

tried everything and nothing happens. I've run as an administrator, i've checked my security settings. in the options of trainz i set the graphics to open GL and i have access to the internet. i've even run it compatible to when it last worked - windows xp- but nothing happens :(

If CM worked under XP and the only change you made was a switch to WIN7, then that is your problem. I am still using XP and will continue to do so because my motto is "If it ain't broken, don't fix it". If you have not already done so, you may need to uninstall and then re-install Trainz on your computer. Not having WIN7 myself that is about all that I can suggest.

You might try doing a search of the forums for WIN7 and CM issues. I recall seeing many previous posts concerning WIN7 (and Vista).

Good Luck, tomurban

ahh i think i found the problem.
i did the trainz diagnostics and where it said Open GL there was a red cross and it said unable to test

what do i do?

Find the Auran folder in Program Files and open it. Find the launcher.exe file and open it. If it works create a shortcut for your desktop. There is a separate .exe file for CMP.

In Norton Antivirus there is "Settings", where you can make Program-"Allowable Exceptions Rules".

For TRS2006:

"Add", then browse for:

C://ProgramFiles/Auran/TRS2006/bin/CMP
C://ProgramFiles/Auran/TRS2006/bin/Launcher

Always "ALLOW"

Likewise inside the Trainz desktop icon (R click on it) ... then Properties ... Advanced: Tick the box: "Run As Administrator".

i've found the folder now but it wont open

Sometimes if your database is corrupt, CMP won't load.

With TRS2006, navigate to where you install TRS2006, and remove the asset.tdx and the backup.tdx file if it exists.

[Note: If this is a newer version of Trainz, such as TS2009 and up, there is a repair database option right in CM.]

Anyway, Reboot, and restart CMP or Trainz.

This will cause the database to rebuild and reload your content. The process can take some time, so go off and do something else, or plan on doing this when you go to sleep so you can let the program run and do its thing uninterrupted.

To prevent this from happening, make sure you wait at least 10 minutes after exiting from Trainz before your shut your computer off. This gives the program a chance to close up the database handles, and prevents data corruption.
