Content Creator Plus Problems

There is a bug in the patch system that means you have to have at least 4GB of free space, also you will need to re-install Trainz before applying the patch without running Trainz first.

Ugh. Still not Working

Ok, I patched to 3092, but Content Manager still refuses to load. Is there something else I need to do?
Eric

Did you remember to re-install Trainz before installing the patch, and install the patch before running Trainz for the first time?

If you did, it may be an issue with your graphics card. What are your system specs?

Shane

Most of them are in System Properties - right-click (My) Computer then click Properties.

I just need to verify though that you did not run Trainz at all between the re-install and applying the patch.

Shane

No. I literally reinstalled Trainz, Downloaded the patch, and installed the patch. Then I clicked "manage content" and the error warning reappeared.
System Properties are Windows XP Version 2002 SP3. Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80 GHz 2.79 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM. If there's anything specific you need to know, let me know.

OK, this is getting more serious - I've never had many problems with CMP not starting.

My next bit of advice is to add -intro=disable to the trainzoptions.txt file.

Also, if assets.tdx and assets.bku (in the cache folder) are present, delete them.

Shane

....but my purpose for using 2006 is simply to change an asset file premetro island station and some reskins of it so I can use them in 2009 since it won't install in 2009 but it will in 2006....

It seems to me that the easiest course would be to forget TS2006, move on to TS2009/10 and fix, what you say is, the single problem asset using TS2009/10.

Just a thought...

unfortunately i can't fix the asset because it won't install in ts2009/ts2010 (and I do not know what happened to the creator cosey, nor how it would be possible to edit a cdp file in explorer without installing it). I did as you said and there is no assets.tdx and assets.bku in the cache folder, and it doesn't change anything.

premetro island station,<kuid:112820:26025> is on the DLS and I have just tried to install this into TS2010 using CMP 3.3, when the download completed it is shows as installed in the download helper pane BUT it's status in the main window is still shown as being on the DLS! Very odd, must be a fault with the asset or a very odd technical glitch!!! (not a fault with your CM).

Have you tried downloading this asset from the Auran DLS Website (AKA "Black Pages") as a CDP and installing it into TS2009/10 from that (import CDP)?

Yes I know that. It will work if you install the file in 2004 or 2006 (hence why I'm asking about this annoying problem), and after that you can just edit it in explorer (delete a file, I don't know which, but it says in another thread of mine), save to cdp, and install sucessfully in ts2009/ts2010

Mind reading is not my strong point.

Goodbye.

It isn't mine either. But I mentioned this earlier in the thread (correct me if I'm mistaken). Anyway, I do appreciate your advice & anyone's that can help.
Eric

I tried that, but how do you edit a CDP file outside of trainz? I don't know how to edit it without installing it into trainz (sadly i can't do that). Do you know how to?
Eric

By editing i mean just view it in explorer like you can when you right click something you install. I have the cdp files. All I need to do is edit them.
Eric

After dealing with a different problem elsewhere in the forums, it seems that your problem is graphics card related. Just out of interest, what is your graphics card?
