Pizza Delivery Train
Congratulations to the newlyweds.

Did anyone watch the wedding on tv?
I did, along with my Mum.

awe inspiring ain't it.

Can we get back out of the fairytale world??
There's a Nuclear Crisis in Japan
A rebellion in Libya and now Syria
A Twister killing nearly 300 in Central America
Tsunami warnings in the pacific

While, when watching a 30 minute news broadcast, 28 minutes of it is asking how long will the bridal Train be??

Jamie

Jamie,

What you want us to do then?
can't be in all them places at once.

all doom and gloom in the world .nice to have abit of a fairytale for half hour

I would much rather watch a happy occasion like a wedding than listen to Harriet Harperson waffle on about wimmin's rights and about disasters around the world (yes, they are dreadful events, but can everything be bad news now?).
Those of you who are moaning about being "forced" to watch it, TV is not the only thing in this world and you could do many things which don't involve being glued to a box for hours. I don't know about in the US, but over here only a very tiny fraction of programming was devoted to the wedding.

I shall carry on enjoying this day off.

Dean, Here is the list of channels that are covering the wedding all day
ABC
CBS
NBC
FOX
TLC
BBC America (expected it on here, but am Missing my Doctor Who Fix!)
VH1
All the Entertainment channels
TV Guide
Basically everything except MTV and the weather Channel....And I do not watch any of the "Shows" on MTV...so that leaves me the weather channel/...

I really don't get what all of the hype is about. It isn't even like they have any real power or anything, they are just celebrities. I don't know, I may be kinda jaded to this whole sort of thing with all the crap that has happened this year that has actually mattered, such as Japan, revolution in the middle east, the massive storm system that just devastated my own country.

Actually, let me rephrase that. I get why the UK is all happy and stuff. Good for them. But why the hell is the US getting all swept up in this whole figurehead marriage hoopla.

By the way, I am not trying to say that our system is better or anything, or insult the British system in anyway, as it seems to work just fine. I just don't get why the news stations keep broadcasting about it like it is some sort of groundbreaking event.

Oh well, most of my countrymen might not know who the Prime Minister of the UK is, but at least they will know the prince and his wife's name... and have commemorative plates.

Edit: Yup, almost every channel here is going on and on about the wedding even though we just lost 300 people. Heck, I don't even see anything about sending aid to the south.

By the way, just curious, in the UK you guys have things come up asking for donations to disaster relief, like with the Japanese earthquake and the like right? I am just wondering if there is anything like that now asking to donate to the US to help with the tornado damage, or if there was anything during Katrina.

I absolutely love d the beautiful wedding. I wish I could have such of my own. And the choir was just angelic. The bombers were cool too.

.

1....Perhaps the USA middle class that has high unemployment, lower wages, losing school teaches, schools closing, etc, etc, need to see some happiness, regardless of where it is, to help them cope with their personal life.

2.....Yes, the USA Red Cross is asking for donations.... you can text a $10 donation on your cell phone.

Regards,
