Comp cant communicate

Hi all, just a small problem.
I have just installed a new LCD monitor to replace my old CRT one, only problem is now I can't start any Trainz game ( 06, TC3 or 09) they all say that Trainz can not communicate with my hardware/software.
I have all the new drivers from Nvidia and the Trainz Diag test passes me on everything.
any clues as to what to do next guys? im stuck.
Cheers for any help.

Got it sussed at last. It was the refresh rate, it is always set to auto in trainz so I tried reducing it to the new 60htz of the new monitor and BINGO, im back in.
Only trouble now is the colors are all too bright and my map looks awful now that the green grass base color I used has now become like a bright lime reflector green, even the track sleepers have a green tint to them.
Guess us old un's don't know what we are doing any more wih all this new gear. :hehe:

Just a quick question, what make and model screen did you get? Some of the new ones have different settings for different things.
For example, my Samsung has settings for Text, Internet, Games, movies etc.

If everything has a green tint it seems that the colour balance may be out.

Hi Deano5,

It is possible that your graphics card may need to be adjusted for colour so it might be worth trying if Nathan's suggestion doesn't do the job.

Cheers
Russell.

Hi, it's an LG 22inch 2ms Flatron L227WT.
Are there any settings in windows I need to adjust now I have gone from CRT to Lcd

Deano5,

Just had a quick look at the manual for that monitor and have a couple of questions,

1. Which input are you using DVI or VGA?

2. I notice there is a Colour Control setting in the menu on the monitor, check to see if the green channel is set more than the other channels. Did you run the Auto Set-up for the monitor?

3. What graphics card do you have? Is it the latest drivers?

4. There may be a setting within the control panel for your graphics card.

Hi Nathan,
I am using the DVI cable as the Gforce 9800 XT OC+ card has only got those type of sockets.
Just had a look at the settings for RGB and they are all set at 50. I went through some of the many photos I have just to see what they looked like and they are not too bad, just a bit too bright, almost like the color switch on the tv turned right up.
I will try and fiddle with the Nvidia settings as Trainz seems to be the worst at the moment.

Ok, i'm using a 9600GSO on a samsung 20" widescreen through DVI and not got any problems with the colouring.
