Coal County [large pics]

Now to resolve this "quoted picture predicament"...either Poppins or Nicky could edit their post...and the un-needed extra Quoted pictures will go away and be less redundant ... You CAN edit your own posts:cool:

Thanks Nicholas, I forgot about them. I've been a member for a long time but haven't visited for awhile. Will get them when I get home from work.

I hope you enjoyed the shot of the boat by the pier which I made specially for you. :D

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

Nice Nicholas, too bad there's no sailboat with the sails furled. See...? It never ends! You are doing such a fine job that every detail will stand out!:D

Nicholas, went to the TPR site and downloaded the flexable bridges but the one I was refering to is not in that group. Post #19, about the last 7 or 8 screens shows the bridge I'm interested in. Thanks.

Oh sorry. I take it you are referring to the track that goes above the swamps? That would be "NSW girder bridge 1" spline in either 3 or 15 meter segments. It is built into TRS2006 and TS2009. There is a similar one, but more American-ish used by IndustRail and the Clovis Sub (among many others) which I hope to acquire and replace with soon. The supports are separate trackside items by the name of "bridge pylon 1" which is also built-in.

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

Something in the back of my head tells me the texturing is still a little bland but I can't figure out what it wrong.

Anyway, I hope you guys like the progress so far.

Feel free to post if you feel there's any room for improvement.

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

Nicholas, as you know I've been following this tread from the beginning and I think your work is outstanding BUT I agree with your statement about something not looking right with your latest screens. Years ago when I first started with this sim I remember reading a rule of thumb about not planting green grass in brown areas and brown or dry grass in green areas.
Green bushes and shrubs growing in brown dirt doesn't look right to me. If shrubs or bushes can grow then grass or weeds should be able to also. Just my thoughts and I will download this route when it's finished.

Thanks for your feedback. I am considering using the new asset replacement tool to well.. replace the green bushes with slightly desert-ish types but not sure how to get around to doing it (where is it even located? :o).

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

Bad news for me. From your statement about using the asset replacement tool I can only guess that you're using 09. I'm staying with 06 until all the issues are taken care of so I guess I will not be downloading this route. I will still follow this thread to see how your route develops.

Stouth, there is no cause for concern. Judging from my (unmistakably lofty) plans for the route, it will be quite some time before it's actually released. And I'm in no hurry to complete this route. Speed and detail don't go too well together, and we are seldom allowed the best of both worlds, as in this case.

Regarding the issue of the shrubs, I have swapped them all out for a similar one with a lighter and drier shade of green. The changes should be reflected in the next round of screen shots.

I appreciate your support for my route and will try hard to not disappoint.

Cheerio,
Nicholas.
