CDP errors

I have Ultimate Trainz Collection and everytime i try to download custom content i always get a error:

'Could not be read, as the file is not a valid CDP file'

then after that one i get

'unable to find requierd username tag in package'

any help is greatly appreciated
 
Problem: When a downloaded CDP file is opened, the following error messages are displayed:
  • Content could not be read, as the file is not a valid CDP
  • Unable to find required username tag in package
Solution: The CDP file was probably not completely downloaded. Try downloading the CDP file again. It may help to use a download manager utility such as Star Downloader, instead of downloading in a web browser program. In particular, the Trainz Pro Routes layout CDP files do not seem to be compatible with the Firefox web browser program, but are ok with the Star Downloader program. However, if the downloaded file is accessed via an ASP, CGI or PHP link then it may be impossible to use a download manager, in which case try using a different web browser.

If they don't have the right mime type set on their Web server it can confuse things. I thought about setting the Mime type on my Web server but just found it easier to Zip the CDP instead.

But a download manager may have better luck than the browser that's for sure...
 
There was something mentioned at the time about an update for UTC regarding issues when downloading from the DLS, but the link is now dead. (The Content Dispatcher update)

I am seeing if I can get a link to it.

EDIT: Unfortunately, I cannot find a link (Auran/N3V???) - you will need to ask someone if they have a copy of the file (UTC_Content_Dispatcher_DLS_update.zip)

OK thanks, Its just that i am trying to download some much needed Network Rail DMU's for my british: Norwich to London Line
 
Just out of interest, are you downloading them from the DLS or from a third-party site?

If it's the DLS, you will need the Content Dispatcher update if you haven't already got it.

OK - that sounds like an issue with your Content Dispatcher, or the content you are downloading is not compatible with your version - if in doubt, post the KUID numbers here.

On the site you have specified, it will tell you which versions it supports - make sure that it includes your version (if it's just TRS2004+, it will not work/install in UTC)

I have UTC :/ and it says it will work for TRS 2004 + :)

The KUID's:

179051:153007

179051:158002:2

179051:150012

179051:150008
 
Ah - I see the problem.

TRS2004 is a later version than UTC, and the content from TRS2004 is not directly backward compatible without alterations.

That may be why it's not installing correctly, as TRS2004 changed some of the tags in the config files so that UTC cannot understand them.

Found a solution, I have also found out i had 2006 i will uninstall UTC and intall 2006 and see what happens :) i will post here the results

EDIT: i am not sure what version it is

What are missing dependcies? I cannot get them due to missing dependancies i cannot find them anywhere. I need help (Again) :p

Missing dependencies are assets (like bogeys, engine specs, horn sounds, meshes etc) that are not present in your installation.

If the dependencies are on the Download station (indicated by a DS sign next to the assets when you right-click the asset with the missing items and click View Dependencies), you can download them by right-clicking the asset and clicking Download.

If the item has a ? next to it (a grey one) then post the KUID number mentioned here.

All the KUID's neccesary. I cant seem to access the download station and i cannot afford a FCT.
