CCP - annoying 'feature'

Well, I don't know if it's the apropriate place but I hope so. When repairing thousands of assets to use them in Native mode in TS10 it becomes annoying to always confirm 'saved' status with ok button or similar. Can it be removed in the forthcomming versions of CCP? Or after just choosing 'refresh' with no changes made I always get 'save changes?' message or something similar - what for? When opening and closing the CCP 40 times in a sequence it becomes a real problem.

Thank you

Don't repair assets in CCP, that is intended for making new content. Work in 'Edit - Edit in Explorer', that was intended for altering existing files. You can open several, change them all then commit them as a batch.

Yes....

 ...you can & in fact I do use CCP for updating assets...but DO NOT run any asset that uses auto-running number(ARN) in CCP(JointedRail, especially). But if you do, deleting, running TAD, reinstalling will make them normal...edit them in Explorer(Ctrl+Shift+E).

You'll still have to save, that is to allow you to back out if you make a mistake, something you can't do in Explorer.

Keyboard shortcuts greatly help whilst repairing assets...you can use both hands & work almost faster than you can keep-up, something that is needed for many error correction edits at one time.

CCP allows not only updating but also adding to content, as with products, enginesounds, etc.

Don't forget to change the kuid-table, however you choose to edit!

I know it sounds like a lot of work, but the end result is to enjoy.

Thank you for your suggestions! I guess working without CCP ( ie ONLY in 'edit in explorer) makes things even slower if you have for instance to delete 'description' field only... From my experience i know 'edit in explorer' is sometimes more handy, though. I am aware I can loose some assets editing in CCP because it changes the structure (syntax) of assets to the newest standards which sometimes spoils other things. I'm not an epert.

Having in mind all shortcuts In CCP you still have to confirm things too mamy times. Even one keystroke more while editing slow things down. To date I repaired (or attempted to repair unsuccesfuly) about 20 thousands of assets and I know what I'm saying. Every single errorteaches me new things. So the thread purpose is not to ask 'how' but to ask Auran to remove this very thing.

Simple!

 Whether you use Ctrl+F4, or File/Exit, click the red X, you can close both "Do you wish to Save?" and the following "Config file has been..." by using the Enter button on the keyboard or number pad.

You changes will be saved.

Most all the acknowledgement prompts work like this...if the no-button is highlighted, use the arrow key to shift it to affirm your choice. This also works in Explorer when closing notepad.

Before you edit assets for errors, check to see if they show in-game...some errors are ignored...I don't know if this works in Native Mode, however I worked several hours editing in Explorer tonight on content that showed in-game anyway.

For you, it would all depend on how picky Native Mode is...

I have been editing assets for eight years, starting with TrainzObjects in'04. CMv3.2 is much easier. CMv3.2 has been modified since the last service pack, so it's possible they may modify it as you suggest.

If only one container must be edited, I do use Explorer, as it is as quick as CCP.
