Cape Cod/Bay Colony

Hello All,
As can be seen by my BCLR avatar, I'm currently building a modern day Cape Cod route. I'll post some pics if I can. I've made it to Sagamore.
Does anyone know if there is any Cape Cod Central Railroad/Cape Cod Railroad or Bay Colony Railroad content available on the DLS? I've downloaded all the classic NYNH&H stuff and some B&M stuff but can't find any specific content. (I'm also really bad at re-skinning and can't create any content due to the fact that I run trainz on a mac, and macs don't run all that fancy CAD stuff).

Cheers :)

There is a BCLR boxcar, but I'm not sure how old it is. It's not done very well I'm sorry to say. Other than that, I can't help you. Today that line would be CSX if it was still operated as part of the New Haven (Old Colony) network.

This will be an interesting route when you complete it.

Actually, it all still exists and is very active. The Mass Coastal railroad took over for BCLR in 2006, and the MBTA runs weekend service to Hyannis in the summer. Mass Coastal and BCLR interchanged with CSX, but there has never been (nor will there be I would guess) any chance of the Cape main belonging to CSX.

Cheers :)

That's good to hear as the Cape is quite a distance from me as I'm on the North Shore side and in a different world, and don't get down there very often if at all anymore. From the sounds of it, Mass Coastal took over for the Cape Cod and Hyannis which ran that route up to Weymouth (Braintree) yard where it interchanged with Conrail at the time. The "T" took over the CC&H passenger service and MC took over the freight when BCLR lost the contract.

Do they switch West Newton and Dover too, or is that still BCLR?

I wouldn't think that route would be included with CSX because there's not a lot of traffic down there. In fact CSX gave up the Cape totally it seems. You could pretend though.... :)

I'm glad CSX hasn't touched the line. It's a very unique shortline. On average, there are around 4 to 5 trains a day during the summer months between Buzzards Bay, Yarmouth, and Hyannis. On occasion, the Woods Hole line from Buzzards Bay to North Falmouth also sees traffic.
