Can't open "EOO." files.

Hi all, one more silly question,

I'm trying to open files (RRLINE.EOO.GZ & RDLINE.EOO.GZ) into Tranzdem but can not.
These files are the rail line and road lines for Queensland Australia that I got of the Qld gov web site.
I can unzip the files and open them in Notepad but only a lot of numbers come up, no map or lines that can be used in Transdem.

Am I missing a step or do I need to convert the files to something else first and if so how.

Just looked it up. .E00 is an ArcInfo file. There are just too many vector data file formats around. TransDEM supports a few of them. ESRI .shp (a competitor's format) is among them. Perhaps you can find a converter via an Internet search engine?

The maker of the .E00 format has created a converter to the .shp format (Shapefile) which can then be imported - download link and instructions are on that page.
