10 km to go to reach Revelstoke and start work on Revelstoke:eek::hehe: itself.
The tracks and main layout already for the city was already done now fill in houses, industries and foilage and see what that will look like.
Here some shots today west of Twin butte near Mnt. Revelstoke Nat. park

Playing again with textures is like a game itself. Each click, rotation, magnify is a surprise by itself and when least expected match better than expected...

What a contrast entering Revelstoke east at the scrap yard

Well this week I attacked the industrial part of Revelstoke Powerhouse Rd and quiet amusing looking for objects that meet the look and feel of what Google earth is displaying and quiet pleasing after all.

Most work is the research and locate all pieces of the puzzle, i like but plenty of choice when you spent enough time on it.

This little corner took me one week but i also gathered already lots of items for the city and neighborhoods to come in this and next routes to complete.

What a enormous display of items available by so many fantastic creators thanks for that.

Ok here we go with scrap yard 1, than LPG terminal and next scrap yard and some lumber bizz and finally the building materials store.

Next week the lumber yard and onwards to the first trailer park neighborhoods and the rest of Revelstoke.

Well for a little while now the real world can't wait to get out of the city again:hehe:
Where we live is 100% nature so I got absolutely spoiled by it and less and less used to people and garbage.

have a nice day

Roy;)

thanks Adamovic but i will slow down posting as people seem to get tired of it

Roy

I don't know, I'd say the only boring part is when you don't post :p
Keep up the great work, this is an amazing piece of Trainz art!

No i am not depressed still full of energy and joy

Dear Bob Fred and Tyard thanks for posting and commenting so warm hearted!.
Ok i will try to keep up the good work but it's kind of tough now around Revelstoke with that many buildings, trailers n details but we go day by day as my wife Ning says.:hehe:

OK back to work...:p

have a wonderful day

Roy;)

I've been following this thread from the beginning and it's absolutely stunning. Roy, you're up there with the best of the route builders. Looking forward to downloading and running this route. I'm always looking for your posts.

Thanks Stouthm

thank you for posting that way.
You give me a lot of credit knowing what superb route builders we have in this community:)
I started this thread only 6 month ago and the response is absolutely overwhelming by times and yes very encouraging to make this route work.

have a great day

Roy;)

Roy, your attention to detail is amazing...

I hope you'll consider my services offered when it's beta testing time. I've Google Earthed the Revelstoke area and you are right on! I've also looked for businesses in the area (visible from the tracks) that you may require. The Super 8 motel is there, and done, and I'm working out a way to nightmode signs that are not presently. Any businesses on your wish list? The Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce site is disappointing when trying to find pictures...:)

I agree the Chamber of Commerce site is of little help. It is also unfortunate that Google Maps Street View photographed only #1 Highway, which bypasses Revelstoke on the side of Mount Revelstoke to the north-west. They didn’t photograph the town and, in particular, Victoria Road which parallels the CPR tracks. The only views of the town which can be obtained on Street View are at the north end where the highway crosses the Columbia River.

The railway bridge over the Columbia is sandwiched between two car bridges the suspension bridge being #1 Highway:

This is a view of Victoria Road paralleling the CPR mainline through Revelstoke.

An interesting building to model would be the Revelstoke Railway Museum.
http://www.railwaymuseum.com/
It is just visible at the bottom of the picture of Victoria Road.

Campbell Avenue is an interesting street the intersection with Victoria Road seen here on the left.
http://homepage.mac.com/doug56/MBC Tutorials/page17.html
The street is a boulevard as it once ran on either side of a railway spur that ran down to a sternwheeler dock used to ship supplies south on the Columbia River and the Arrow Lakes. In 1893 the CPR replaced the spur with a branch line, which ran south from Revelstoke to Arrowhead at the top end of Upper Arrow Lake. The spur, dock and branch line are long gone but Campbell Avenue remains a boulevard.

I too look forward to seeing Joosten’s interpretation of this section of the Revelstoke Division, as he is so good at and attentive to detail. It’s great to hear this route is nearing release.

My dear friend Ed can I say? i am speechless

thanks for taking time to post and making flattering comments.
Yes i consider you as one of the very close trainzers amoung the many Canadian Rocky Mountains fan club:hehe:.
I get the cold shivers reading your post and Cayden's and the spontaneous support offered etc. Very very heartwarming indeed.
Yes google earth on Revelstoke the one's i use to a part is the fly over and some picts giving indications of what's there.
Otherwise I chose random and at most from feeling what fit.
I will have to spent a day at least to find again the kind of hexagon shaped building attached to the museum main building. i have seen something similar but to many I forgot again.
Yes for me as long as I have trainz nightmode is a must as the best shots and railway nostalgia you get dusk dawn and night trut me. Well that is my feeling of course.
Yes i consider you for sure when getting close or ready for testing but I am almost sure this was not the tuffest part.
The sessions is I believe the most difficult one:
I have to check again what trains go east west/timetable etc than make consists that could match incl temp locomotives as i not bought any nice one's since I not really play but work very hard to get one route ready and than look for best quality weathered CPR,CN UP all the one's that occur by times on this route in real time.
Any info link is more than welcome.

Davesnow and you provide me almost exactly at the right moment with the so much needed local stores, bars, shops typical for the north america's. Hooters in Chattanooga I will give a place when you finished at any major town on all my routes. The girls we have already from russia and other fine places:hehe::eek:

Cayden the surprise of the month for me to see you around again

hoped and waited you would turn back to the battlefield of trainz or never gone and silent recovering?
My dear Cayden thanks for the help and comment most appreciated and please never give up.
I am now slowly working my way west of the water treatment plant yesterday finishing the yard east side with little nitty gritty details (what I can find on the dls or in my libs. To many things I have to use my imagination and that one is still working well.
I will try today to post a few picts in WIP CPR yard and surroundings.
Stay in touch and if I can help you let me know!!!

y'all have a wonderful day

Roy:D

More Resources for Pictures

Roy,

You can also have a look at flickr and youtube for pictures and video around Revelstoke. There's a quite a few photos in there that may help you fill in some of the areas.
I've watched your route develop for some time now and am very impressed with the attention to detail you have demonstrated in creating your route. Keep up the great work and hope to see some more pics soon.

Goooood morning RJBradley from monsoon Thailand

thanks man for this early morning call :hehe::hehe:.
Noo Actually i am late. I woke iup last night from rain pooring at 1 am and got up till 4 started working on Revelstoke and changed some extra pofig's trees back to a variety like i had before entering Revelstoke.
What happens is same as Dermmy experience every 10 minutes logout and save as all ST disappear and that is not of my liking for working.
Yesterday I fiddled with sirgibbys, tume's,davesnow, euphod just to name a few but hmm yes no, I'm not sure looks nice but not to local if you know what I mean, many houses are extended trailers seen from the top view in google earth.
Google earth gives me pretty good idea of what type of houses near the yard and enough pictures to get a DMdrake idea of types to fit the mainstreet and gfisher here and there. Thanks for the info.
TS12 bug on Olegkhim's switch object and connection to track spline bugs me more than once probably when smooth terrain and or height adjustments done nearby trigger somewhere the bug to cut connected tracks on an object spline configuration i will show today in a picture what i mean. Its not big and repairable but outright annoying. TS12 has a general sp[line problem not only track also roads have that bug thing.

Hope the new patch soon will solve these. But I wait till others give the green light on the patch to be useful.

have a nice day

Roy;)

For those who want to give some feedback please on type of housing what fit best and to many trees on Townsley St if you ask me gonna cut a few to see difference.
the maintenance yard looks ok to me.
The main building not really fit and to big for this town have to look for another one advice one please.
I think I get tunnel vision working alone and Ning more than once in a while jury the pics i put out there. She is thrilled and very proud of my work and honest me too no shame on that......years of work not hours.
To end hope soon get e safe patch for TS12 solving the spline devil.
Many thanks to all out there taking the time to visit and post comment.
To be continued.................for sure

have a wonderful day

Roy
