Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Roy,

just a quick simple question or two... is there any waterfalls on the route? If so, what can I search for to get me near one/them? Thanks Roy!

Paul

Paul yes there are several static and as far as Trainz allows dynamic one' s too. Look north of Golden Kicking Horse towards Ottertail .
near Revelstoke- dam and Rogers Pass...... where else.....
If i remember more i let you know.
Of course the rapids near Donald station and those onwards to the lakeand yes one more waterfall at least,
Hope this helps,

Roy

Blue Canoe rental near Banff Station

From GE local "Blue canoe rental" place, nice little corner not far from tracks.

Morning Paul and fellow trainzers,

great shots Paul, it not reflects the farrest what some trainzers try to start as a cruisade against 3D trees.
They feel they need to have an unspoken two dimensional opinion based on in many cases what the crowd shouts must be truth. Where smoke is is fire.
The sad part is some I call careful 1 dimensional trainzers ride trainz only on screenshots, split seconds two dimensional decors like on a stage.
Trainz is much more it is the same when you sit on a ridge with a splendid view trees left and right some grass and weeds just the real thing and than a slight breeze move very subtle the tree, grass, flower or smoke from campfire or chimney, the viewer slowly looks around and the picture changes so does the wind play different each time on the assets we call 3 dimensional imagination at work.
Critics will say not that great the light is "wrong" no seasons etc etc few say and think well it is (was) a good start and the next level next year and after we will extend those features well beyond what I am already happy with in anticipation of that step.
Make a video and take shots roaming view outside and see what I mean, Paul and others do this very well, thank you all for the clear look at things.
Later i will post some new shots of WIP in Banff nearing the river slowly completing the city on my way to the Banff Convention Center area and the Fairmont Springs Resort.

Temps last night dropped below 49F again and strong winds from the mountain. Djoetje lucky he has nice fur coat:hehe:

Again later some Picts from todays work.....

Your screenshots are very impressive.
I understand the hard work behind their implementation.
As an architect, I congratulate you for the urban development .... hope you got all permits!

Jango ;)

Morning Jango,

thank you and likewise i know what you go thru. job well done under diffeicult circumstances.

If you mean getting all permits from the City town hall bld dept? no I just go for it and hope they see it as an enhancement of the Banff city skyline and look the other way. If you mean other mpermits let me know what you are referring too.

some last shots for the year WIp Banff convention centre area and than the huge task to make alike something to the huge Banff Fairmont hotel/resort.

YES, In Italy many difficulties for permits ..

Have you made the 3D buildings?
Magnificent job!
:udrool:

Morning Jango,

Yes I remember in my former life long long time ago before EU actually in the time of the EGKS(Europeaische Gemeinschaft fuer Kohle und Stahl) and the time of the Benelux it was already a given rule that anywhere not only in Italy you needed almost a permit for a dog house in your back yard.

A little envelope did many times the job to get things signed and paperwork done or exempt granted.

Thailand is a copy of EU 100 years ago especially when living in the country side there is nothing else than inviting the notables to a party for a good meal and drink, no paper work no permits no anything else...(so far).

On the island its a different story it is all National Park and the sea too so there our land is an island on an island but buildings already there on and near the water so no permits needed.

The house we built in the NE a civil engineer (thai) signs my design of the house and makes a thai drawing of an already perfect made 3D house design and sections, drawings etc.

Haha that was my first encounter with a different culture some 6 years ago a CAD designed house and BOM,BOQ again drawn on a piece of paper by the local thai AE, now i can laugh/smile about it back than it was a big insult to me.

Well on your next comment it is now hard to keep a few secrets till my next release.
On the other hand posting pictures of my progress almost every week is not hiding in my dungeon either and brewing new stuff.;)

At this moment I have accumulated well over 2.000 new objects which for a part are used in the next to release Laggan Sub and later on in the other subs to finish.
Most are getting ready to be used when time is there for them, so I have a vast choice of buildings etc to choose from in great variations, look and feel.

Long time ago I said to you in a private email that we both would be a good team with same background, hobby and discipline in our actions.

Now we know you cover the USA and mainly the Canadian territory and that looks fine.

Maybe some day our routes meet at the border and we can run iportals to each other.

See you and me are different than many others in the Sim world, (in my eyes) we are not competition at all, we cover different territories and slightly different apporach of How to'szzz and have our own distinctive signature!
Jango I sincerely wish you a great launch and continuation of your Donner Pass route and for sure many trainzers will happily roam and gaze on it.:mop:

At this moment it is my intention to take some more time to get my WIP more detailed left and right and launch it when the dust settles around yours and people had time to save a few hamburgers/beers for my Laggan sub.:hehe:

happy holildays cont'd

Hello Roy, I subscribe to the Golf Club House?
Always amaze me, Roy, for the perfect details.
I hope always a collaboration.

Currently, with some US TrainzFans, we are setting a new historic route (freeware) in the Yukon territory (partially) .....

Happy New Year

Hi GianFranco:

I sent you a PM.

My goodness Roy you continue to amaze with your remarkable images. Maybe Banff will have to redo itself into your Banff Virtual image. :hehe:

Keep up the great work in 2014.

Cheers,

Derek

Gianno, Derek,

thanks for the nice posts.
you know what it takes to get to those details and it is not for the faint of heart.

Unfortunately my Geforce GTX580 gave up on me since saturday and I can use only 1 monitor it shows the display in the setup but no videosignal on the 2nd screen. I tired all kind of tricks but it seems it lost tyhe capabality of multiple monitors even if I use the optional mini dvi connection still only one display even if the nivida control panel it shows how many displays to use and one primary display showing and the oyther one too but in reality it dispplays only one.

Any help very welcome.
I did already order a new Geforce card in order to not get stuck completely if the GTX 580 gives up on me completely. Expensive set back.... for the new year to start with.

Roy:eek:

OK guys and girls,

finally got my new GTX 780 Ti installed and need the mob to clean the room.
Paul or anyone else who has a GTX780 Ti pls share your settings so I can see if they fit my profile too.
My route runs amazingly smooth 30 fps up and draw distant mountains almost Tane like...
Ok time to close i am very tired after 3 days of gettings things sorted out installed, a corrupted bios fixed etc etc etc Murphy all over the place but now all seems to run smooth.

Awaiting anxiously fellow trainzers settings nividia etc.

Thanks in advance and yes tomorrow finally back to work.
