Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Hi Roy and everyone else who views this thread.

5 days ago I had been in Trainz exile for around 4 years. If I am totally honest I didn't think I would ever take an interest in Trainz again having drifted onto other things. On Sunday afternoon I stumbled across The Kickstarter Project "Trainz Simulator - A New Era". Initially I made a modest pledge, I liked the idea and the more I read about it, the more my interest in the future of Trainz was growing. The fire was lit and within a few hours I was back on the Kickstarter page increasing my pledge. At this point I was going to take a back seat and strap myself in for the ride and watch the next 4 weeks unfold. It didn't stop there though, I still couldn't stop at pledge number 2. I decided I needed a bigger slice of the action and pledge number 3 was made within 24 hours of me starting all this. Having got this far and making a commitment to the future of Trainz it was time to dust down my last version of the game Trainz 2009 and take a look. I had remembered fondly how much I enjoyed Trainz 2004 and Trainz 2006 along with Trainz classics, although if I am honest winding the clock back 4 years and looking at Trainz 2009 did little to enhance my new found enthusiasm for the Trainz Kickstarter project.

Taking the above into consideration it was time to research the current version of trainz and try and establish what the best available routes for Trainz 12 were. This is where I stumbled across Roys Trainz and after browsing his site and the forums I knew instantly I wasn't going to wait for my Get Trainz Now selection from the Kickstarter Pledge. I bought Trainz 12 along with CPR-Mountain-Sub TS14 and It's one of the best decisions I have ever made.

The Route is absolutely stunning Roy and is a credit to you.

I look forward to seeing your work hit new heights in future versions of trainz.

Thankyou.

Hi Richard:

Welcome back to Trainz. You have come back at an exciting time for Trainz fans. Many of us have also supported the Kickstarter program. In fact I more than doubled my pledge today and I have issued a challenge to my fellow Canadian Trainz fans to also pledge.

I have had Roy's route for a year now and I still use it regularly! I agree that it is amazing. I suggest that you park your train sometimes and hit the "4" key and just roam around. There are a lot of things to see.

No doubt Roy will reply to you. He is usually online from Thailand about midnight GMT.

Cheers and have fun,

Derek

Great!!!!

Thanks Richard and Derek for the excellent posts and support of the Kickstarter adventure. There is still momentum so I it looks now more than promising!

G'day Roy, I have now put the CPR route in TS12 SP1 HF4 and here are some screen shots. Start out coupling up three locos for a coal haul up through "Big Foot" country.

Barry thanks for pointing at and sharing 4 wave fix files

Barry you have mail.
I just finished an upload to the website download page for the 61388 version but it should also work on the earlier 4992 and 58414 version so added in both releases dependencies a zip file containing the 4 "faulty" wav files.

The file name is fix_wav_4_files_61388.zip at the bottom of the deps dl page.

At your convenience go to your profile and pick this file for download and replace the 4 cdps in there and you should be ok.

Love the pictures wonna drive my consists too but Banff works prevents me at the moment and later to do so.:hehe:

Have a great day

600 aud shy of 100K ....Ks is still working although sunday church slows down a lot of traffic I guess.

Good to see you have a seat on the Trainz Pioneer Council Roy. Whilst I have only known you for a few days, I can already see you know how to push the boundaries to the limits on this software.:)

The Canadian Challenge

Hi Roy:

I'm challenging all Canadians that follow this thread to join the Canadian Challenge and make a pledge to the Trainz A New Era Kickstarter initiative. I started a thread here:

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?107328-Join-the-Canadian-Challenge

So far only a couple of other Canuck Trainz enthusiasts have replied. I know that there are several fellow Canucks that follow this thread. Please pledge to this great initiative and leave a reply on my thread. Let's show our Red and White colors.

Cheers,

Derek

More than just trains in Roy's CPR Mountain Sub

More Ways to Enjoy Roy's wonderful Route - Road, Plane, Helicopter, Catamaran, Horseback, Gondola .......

Note that I have made alterations to the original route to make driveable roads, new trails and aircraft paths. I have also done an asset change to put in seasonal trees that Roy wasn't allowed to include in a Payware package. There are just so many other ways to enjoy this whole new world that Roy has provided for us to play in.

Thanks Roy!!

Well done Barrie.....
In the earlie hours of KS I offered a double pledge and asked Tony the tiger to post on this thread and collect on behalve of N3V but there must be a difference in culture and communication and feel for mutual respect how to handle.
No pun intended and no bad intentions just simple show appreciation for the initiative and originality with good intentions and good heart.
My other double pledge when reaching 1 M aud still stands on what I pledged already when we reach that level.
James thought i calculate in thai bath but my currency flow and work is usd and euro. Thai only for daily life.

I apllaud to our dear Roy's trainz community member Derekc for his initiatives on Go Canada Go and early Xmas/birthday pledge thread..... well done although ning and i just past our BD just this month and my xmas offer to N3V is covering this multiple times.
Go Derek Go well done.

Last but not least we have to be very careful not make this initiative a complete overkill in reaching out to the outside world.
This is a marketing initiative carefully thought thru and executed by N3V not only us.

Looking at the forum numbers of active members etc this KS adventure exposes other realities too coming into the real world picture but nothing wrong.

Many many users who joint Roystrainz community prefer absolute privacy and you not hear them at all not meaning things are wrong just they are not into anything forum, facebook or twitter gossip corner thing.

I thought first maybe facebook is nice to communicate but its like you enter an all women gossip corner nothing else so focus only on trainz forum as a very nice coffee corner to share trainz and other things related.

Yeeahhhh well done pharmboynorth, so nice to see you post a greattt shot love it snow is in the air.
Eem you like the route and I PROMISE i will produce the needed routes to reach Vancouver (3.5) as fast as time and health allow me to.
At this moment my computer is in a thai desktop hospital:hehe: to fix things stopped working well and gives me 2 days to recover my arms and hands no mouse no keyboard no early morning working at Banff so longer swim excercise and bowling will keep me busy.

Good i still have my samsungs note and note 1 to communicate with the outside world.

I cannnot wait to fiddle with real weather low hanging clouds, mist, snow drifts etc man that will change the trainz picture 1.000 times better.

Ya'll have a good one

Thanks Roy for your kind words. Like many others I am hoping that the Trainz A New Era initiative is successful. Françoise gave me an early Christmas present of money so I just pledged that money and I am now in the Trainz Enthusiast Group (another O.L.D.F.A.R.T). :hehe:

The pledges are over 66% of the total today.

Glenn:

Great photos of Roy's route in Winter. As a fellow Canadian it is great to see some Canadian airplanes etc. In the real world, we got 25 cm of snow overnight so our real trees look very seasonal covered in snow. I didn't have to do any work creating this at all. Just let Nature take it's course.

Let is snow, let is snow, let it snow....

Derek

Derekc75, isn't it amazing how much nicer that much snow looks when you have a nice warm house to appreciate it from? ;)

Indeed! :) Growing up in Canada (in most places) snow is a part of our upbringing. A warm house lets us look outside and enjoy the beauty. Our Daughter lives in the GVA (Vancouver area) and actually misses the fantastic blue skies that we get here in the east on a February day when it's -15 C outside. Can't blame her though, she does enjoy the spring flowers at that time of year.

I have spent a couple of winters in the Southern Hemisphere and I realized that I missed the four distinct seasons that we get here. That is another reason that I appreciate that Roy used seasonal textures on his Route. It makes little sense to me to be driving his route at this time of year as if it was summer.

Cheers,

Derek
