Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Lake Louise "chateau" my way WIP

ski and mountain resorts the way the should be if big, personal opinion...they fit much better than huge hotels changing the landscape.

morning Steve,

thanks it seems I never give up once moving on i still look over my shoulder if things need a touch up or replacement and thus move much slower than anticipated for the better though right?

Ya'll have a great weekend

Do you have any scenes from anywhere near Princeton, BC? Apparently I am going there next week for some explosives work at the Copper Mountain open-cut mine.

~ Deane

He Deane,

no Princeton is East of Hope where my route finally goes towards Vancouver area but since you are an expert in the details anything you blow up,see or stumble upon worthwhile will do for sure.
Be careful no jokes on you are a demolition experts. these days people are more than sensitive to anything unusal and even more when a derelict expert flies in from down under to do some kind of hazardous jobs.

Take care dear friend and count to 3 before you throw one not longer.:hehe:

Have a safe ttrip and stay over there!

Roy, Ning and Djoetje:wave:

Hope BC, yeah, I think I will drive through there on the way to Princeton. Any route scenes from around Hope?

I won't be throwing any sticks o' dynamite Roy. Just going to witness a trial of a new bulk explosive that I've been working on for a couple of years. Hopefully we'll blow the s**t out of Copper Mountain.:hehe:

Roy The Champion Route maker..Very nice Pics..How is Ning??How is your health??I think about you a lot and I hope you are getting along better..Your Route is looking better then ever..God's Speed..

Bob, Verey very well done!

Bob,

Ning say hello and Djoetje too (home alone till monday).
Your improvement is as good as it gets!! bravo what a improvement knowing how difficult alm ost impossible to make dramatic sattings in detail like you did.
Ning agrees, continue and never be scared to redo parts if you feel it needs improvement or just try things. This really looks good!!!:mop:
The steep rock oon the left near the track you can try to use a larger detail and less stretch as this looks blurry. In the front rotate the texutre to see if the "side" of the great tuxture show less border. Background looks superas do the trees.

Ok i am battling my allergy and seem to slowly get control to a certain extent and know what to avoid and keep things cool (haha in thailand).
Ning is doing well but tired she drove 2 days ago the car 800 km to visit me in exile and stay 5 days than go back home to Djoetje who needs her most.
i talk every day to him on the phone when Ning is home and he talks like a human unbelievable how excited he is to hear my voice but misses me a lot.

You all have a great day!

Roy

Roy: Thank you for your opinion..You are my inspiration and Mentor..I always think about Bob Ross(artist) when I do Things, and I like His saying "Happy Accidents" Tell Ning and Deer Hello:wave:

Hi Roy,

Amazing pictures of amazing route as usual, great work you are doing.
I'm curious one aspect of the route which makes it unique from others; you have made extensive use of animated switches across what I assume to be the whole route. Does it happen to you this glitch in which TS12 cocks up and messes up your switches and adjacent spline when you use the undo function?

Just wondering, from the perspective of one who previously attempted what you were doing (on a smaller scale) and forced to revert to splines because of said glitch.

Cheerio,
Nicholas

Hi Nicholas in hazy Singapore,
hope the weather soon get's better... i know what burning fields mean every yewar here in Thailand too depending on the wind direction.

Thanks for the nice comment.

The spline bug since TRS 2009 or older not sure anymore but very long seems by times to get worse and they still not have a solution for it or look at it seriously.
The spline bug ios one of the most "ignored" bug i have seen in the entire time I use trainz since 2004.
Yes the animated switches are one of the most distinctive details that makes routes so real and nice to use but at what price.
The glitch did happen a lot when creating the large yards ( had tro redo entirely many times hundreds of switches screwed!!! insane) but this was luckily till last year and once launched no more terrain work etc smooth spline commands etc that can screw your work witrhout seeing it.
The Ctrl Z command indeed was and still is a big bug on this and many times i forget to be careful in using it.
Instead of revert spline delete the spline and put new one. Built-in splines you cannot control when do terrain work heights it still bugs you now and than more than you wish for.

Here the good news:

So far users and myself found only a (2) handful ( 10 or more maybe) coirrupt or disconnected switches but if you think that is the good news look at the road splines and objects you get more surprises than you beg for.

Is my route shaky because of it: no, once running it no one knows and the day looks bright.

Are there tricks to avoid the spline yes but they become a seventh sense i even don't know at this moment what they are I do them intuitively.

best regards,

Roy

Hi Roy,

Thanks for the reply hope you are well too.

I see that you've also been bitten by the spline bug but have been much more perseverance and patience to get it all working. I have another question, as your route is based on DEM, this means following real world track profile and sometimes they lay switches on a gradient, how do you deal with these?

Cheerio,
Nicholas
