Hi Roy,
Amazing pictures of amazing route as usual, great work you are doing.
I'm curious one aspect of the route which makes it unique from others; you have made extensive use of animated switches across what I assume to be the whole route. Does it happen to you this glitch in which TS12 cocks up and messes up your switches and adjacent spline when you use the undo function?
Just wondering, from the perspective of one who previously attempted what you were doing (on a smaller scale) and forced to revert to splines because of said glitch.
Cheerio,
Nicholas
Hi Nicholas in hazy Singapore,
hope the weather soon get's better... i know what burning fields mean every yewar here in Thailand too depending on the wind direction.
Thanks for the nice comment.
The spline bug since TRS 2009 or older not sure anymore but very long seems by times to get worse and they still not have a solution for it or look at it seriously.
The spline bug ios one of the most "ignored" bug i have seen in the entire time I use trainz since 2004.
Yes the animated switches are one of the most distinctive details that makes routes so real and nice to use but at what price.
The glitch did happen a lot when creating the large yards ( had tro redo entirely many times hundreds of switches screwed!!! insane) but this was luckily till last year and once launched no more terrain work etc smooth spline commands etc that can screw your work witrhout seeing it.
The Ctrl Z command indeed was and still is a big bug on this and many times i forget to be careful in using it.
Instead of revert spline delete the spline and put new one. Built-in splines you cannot control when do terrain work heights it still bugs you now and than more than you wish for.
Here the good news:
So far users and myself found only a (2) handful ( 10 or more maybe) coirrupt or disconnected switches but if you think that is the good news look at the road splines and objects you get more surprises than you beg for.
Is my route shaky because of it: no, once running it no one knows and the day looks bright.
Are there tricks to avoid the spline yes but they become a seventh sense i even don't know at this moment what they are I do them intuitively.
best regards,
Roy
