Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Next route: Mars

There seem to be quite a few construction sites on your routes ... gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "world building" ... :)

Hi 64Warhorse:

In Roy's case, the final route from Vancouver to Calgary will be so big that maybe we should call it "Terra Forming" like we might do on the planet Mars in the distant future (long after I am pushing up Daisys). :Y:

Time to just explore the scenery

Hi Everyone:

We are all focused on the Trains because that is why we "love" Trainz. :D

However it is fun once in a while to just set the environmental controls to something interesting (say early evening) and just move around Roy's route. So hats of to Roy :mop: and of course Auran/N3V for providing the software.

Early evening in the Mountains.

A National Geographic @TM photo for sure. It looks as real as it gets from this Virtual World.

Literally standing on the Continental Divide in Trainz of course

Derek,

Love your statement on trainz for trainzers I fully agree, just once in a while some need to be reminded. Maybe i have to open a new thread asking trainzers for a link to a good quality SD40-2 that the creator would allow me to reskin as freeware of course. i am not aware there is one at this moment. But let dust settle first right?

Most beautiful shots today the best I have seen in a long time!!

All I can offer is Continental Divide dirt and works but you gonna love it really once ready.

personally i like when clouds slowly cover the mountain peaks like in this shot.....

Hope you ALL no one excluded have a nice and successful week!

Ning is in Bangkok and flies home today to Djoetje. He will be happy one week alone is long.

Roy;)

joostens cpr route is by far the best payware route i have ever seen with it being so detailed, this should be included in the next version of trainz, i can't stress enough roy how well you have done on this route, you are a very talented person

Although I agree completely with your assessment of the route and its creator, I'm not sure it should go into the next version of Trainz. Even with quite a serious machine, it's pretty easy to get really bogged if you do the wrong things too often. That's not because Roy hasn't done a great job picking what assets to use, it's simply because of the sheer *size* of the route --- this puppy probably has more baseboards than every other route on my computer *combined* ...

Good morning all,

After a very tough weekend being very sick now in hospital i get the needed treatment to survive another week:hehe:
Nugget and many others emailing me with similar very nice supporting comments thanks guys n girls.
In real life the second project most times is better than the first so chances are the Laggan Sub will be really good. From what I learned in the CPR route helps alot in the nitty gritty details just lifting it more than a few steps in landscaping.
One question though in the CPR 1.0.4 I did replace the regular grasses I always use by creator s301 his o and m type grass, no dynamics and It seems better lod response!
For those interested email me i open your account for dl. I need your guys input ti decide wether to stick with the old one's or go for the new ones!!!!
Pls take your time and help me.

well roy get feeling better so you can start your next section of your route, and as far as the route being to big, you can always run each section of the route by itself. hey joosten is it possible to open kicking horse of a download by itself, thats what i have been doing is running each huge section of the route by itself, once section is plenty big enough for one sitting for me anyway lol.

Terra works at Continental Divide highway 1 3 to 4 lane extention

Hi Nuggett2225, all,

I did explain already to some folks although i keep the limited time version of the smaller sections to maintain all is to much work and steal away precious time making the other subdivisions WIP right now.
yes running each section (although overlapping) they not match exactly that is why the big route allows non stop driving and reflects the real Subdivision. Later all the subdivisions will be connected via the i-portals.
I feel much better healthy wise since results yesterday in hospital indicate no major hidden bad surprises but for the moment i cannot go back home for more month to come and that is killing me not seeing and hugging Djoetje.
allergy more calm but not gone so patience is the message.
Ning called today and djoetje answered in Deer language crying and talking so sweet he know I am in the phone and he want to touch and get into the phone to see me. Kind of smart animal he know my voice and know i am in the phone right now.

BTW Who is aware of Trainz have a 3 lane road with one lane (right hand side)is slow traffic no overtake like many times on CA roads seeing in Google earth.
Lake Louise within reach.......but not yet as I have a lot of mountain peaks in the region to give more touch with rock texture.

CPR meets CN

Roy, those are certainly enticing screenshots from the Laggan Subdivision. I can hardly wait to see what you do when you come to Lake Louise. It is one of the most beautiful lakes and scenery that you can find anywhere. Are you going to attempt Chateau Lake Louise? We spent a night there last August and it is truly a marvelous location. No pressure. :hehe:

The Canadian continues into a thunder storm.

trainz2013032917282592.jpg

What is this!! The rival train company, CN, has one of it's trucks at the siding. CN (Canadian National railways) was created much later than the CPR. The CPR was started in 1879, the CN(R) wasn't incorporated until 1919. We can only wonder what the CN boy's are up to.

trainz2013032917285623.jpg

Phew, we made it past the siding. I guess the CN boy's were just taking a break.

Brett,

The CPR Mountain Sub 1.0.4 released last week includes replaced grasses now s301 i.o. jvc! When you open the route in that version you will NOT have the faulty grasses till things are solved.
Let me know you see what I am talking about so we are at least not stuck on that one. The other one's i will check once my update is installed running right now.

Straight through till the Dawn

thanks Derek,

Thanks Roy for the compliment. Good to know the CN boy's were only "checking the competion" I suppose.

I think I'll hold off on the new patch. I don't know if people noticed but they have already announced a problem with some locos and rolling stock derailing. Yikes. http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?100435-Trainz-12-Service-Pack-1

Wow... a big edit here, I urge anyone thinking off applying the new patch to read through this thread FIRST.

http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?100444-Patching-TS12-v-49922-to-v-57720

There a lot of Trainzers having real problems. I'm definitely not applying this SP1 until I see more positive results. I would certainly backup the Userdate subdir first. Yikes.

Well meanwhile back in Roy's world, the thunderstorm has finally ended near dawn.

trainz2013040917351364.jpg

The Canadian is crossing another bridge near a beautiful marshy pond. Where are the Moose? There should be Moose in these ponds.

(Hint to Roy, Bull Moose2,<kuid:128675:37002>). :hehe: But I know that you have more important "World building" to do.

trainz2013040917372057.jpg

The Canadian travels into the Dawn, while Ravens flock in the distance. Hopefully we get a sunny day and no more storms.

Hopefully, everyone will READ this BEFORE installing SP1 for TS12... I highly suggest not doing that just quite yet. Let all the bugz and errorz get worked out of the SP1 for Trainz Simulator 12 first. I am speaking not only from all the other forum posts, but also from experiences. Yes, experiences, not one single one. It takes a long to time to get to go through and finish, and "breaks" a lot of things, too. Above all, MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP before doing anything. And that backup should be retrieved OFF OF YOUR COMPUTER, so if you have a big issue, then it won't be such a problem to get it back. Okay, now back to Canada...

wonna curse, not help, should know better but thought they learn and grow

49920 works and works fine, what can i say.
My little voice told me fresh install but you know me for sure that "should" work but I always go the hard way to see if "they" grow and make a patch not a new version.
If you need to install fresh than it's not a patch you better include it as a complete version.

First i got stuck on my own "mistake" as I had all built-in routes disabled and yarn built-in disabled which makes it finish not successful.
Good thing is it seem to allow this time to try again not crashing it but even after enable the disabled objects it never allowed me to finish it well so quit that one.
Had a backup on an other disc and run it there and yeeeh it finished with the wording successful almost funny when I looked at the CMP waiting loading......loading and when showing data it was like a warzone....:'(

For the fun of it I opened a route and many cdp's of mine gone with the wind.

Ok back to the drawing board (me not them. they have no drawing board I bet) and go the fresh install way and see how I can help those users install the 57720 release and get lost.

Nugget2225 you not have to show missing deps in the forum it has nothing to do with us and just send me an email I will look into it and guide you in the Sonora desert.

No more comments not needed only to say my routes are NOT FAULTY and work.

Roy:eek::eek::o

Ok as of this moment I "updated: at least to yellow faulty working level" all red faulty that i have access to excl JVC which are blocked for edit. I will actually (already did) in CPR 1.0.4 replace the 2 grasses and continue to avoid the not working jvc objects till fixed by the creator.
This caused me a lot of work for nothing sad to say and makes me look stupid but i try to keep things up to date as best as I can but cannot guarantee 3rd party stuff if no access or to much work they should do at their earliest convenience.
