Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Hey Eddie,

Glad to see we fixed this in no time but the glitch was not that bad you only overlooked to dl the route itself and for sure the route you need.
Yes i set fps similar because excess of fps does not help anybody.
You can try OGL as this gives a better horizon but the fps looks less 3-4 fps sometimes more depending what hw config you have but the fps not always tell the whole story so the feeling of smooth driving is the experience you have and will tell you if it runs nice. I had some times lower ten's fps and still felt smooth so can live with that and have wonderfull Hamilton atmosphere vistas to dream away.

have lots of fun and show us your F12 s once you're on the road.

I ran the SAR Red Devil and it's coaches and nearly stripped my foeffie valve to decide which screenshot to take because the route is so beautiful all over...My screnshots won't do it justice though.

congrats Jan with your first ride and screenie well done!!!
if you want to see summer go to left top menu choose environment, snow height 2000 mtr and time of the year/calender march through november would be fine.
Have fun

The Canadian heads East

Here is a shot of "The Canadian" heading eastbound from Revelstoke as it passes a taxi going in the same direction.

"The Canadian" runs past a beautiful lichen-encrusted cliff on its way eastward.

"The Canadian" crosses a bridge to the North side of the Illecillewaet River east of Revelstoke, British Columbia. Good food is being served in the Dinning Car.

Derek,

Man you really did it! I said to Ning look here those screenies superb shot and yes now i see the rocks look even better than expected.
One little question though, historically BC was British and as such left side driving and saw that in many occasions/picts etc and signalling so i thought put that into the route as a little twist but see you drive right sight so must be some MOW on the left side track or a slow goods consists on that track right?
Very nice, we are very pleased with the shots!!!!

Hi Ning, Roy:

Back in the beginning of automobile trafffic in this country various Provinces had different sides of the road to drive on. Imagine going to a differnt Province or State in the same country and having to change the side of the road. :'(

However, nowadays we follow the right hand side of the road on road and rail. This past summer on our amazing Rocky Mountaineer trip from Vancouver to Banff we always were on the right hand side of the rails when crossing oncoming traffic. A few times I went down to the vestibule and stood there as a freight train passed a few feet away on the left hand side. Amazing.

I will keep posting Screenies as I drive Eastbound all the way to the end of your Amazing 3 in 1 route. I look forward to your next subdivision. :D

Cheers,

Derek

Derek,

thanks for the fast reply. So my "historical" left side driving is not accurate any more should I leave it or correct it? If it is not to bad I just leave it and we kind of deal with it but if annoying i have to change it.

I notice that my English wording in the bundle 3 in 1 route might work confusing here is maybe why:

The original route is one seamless segment from Ottertail/Field all the way to Viktor Lake, west of Revelstoke! In there you find the 3 separate routes Kicking Horse Pass, Columbia River Basin and Rogers Pass.
So when one buy each route 3 separate these routes are still single routes and not combined as the big one seamless.
These 3 separate routes have overlapping sections so when you would buy and run these separate routes the i portals are not in sync with each others coordinate but I thought giving each individual route more room and driving was more important than exact same location for in and out to the adjacent routes I-portal. Also the 3 separate route i wanted to accommodate more users to allow a starter kit or just a "smaller" on certain comps faster section still running nice at a entry price.
Hope people appreciate the effort as it was a lot, i repeat a lot of work making them. At first it looks like just cut in 3 pieces like the butcher but there is much much more to it avoiding very mean bugs afterwards and hiding......

any constructive comment always appreciated.

This is Spooky and Amazing

Hi Everyone:

The Canadian is just passing a small industry about 50-55 km East of Revelstoke.

Below is an "aerial" shot from the same location.

Now below is the "Spooky" and AMAZING part of this post. I have been following this route on Google maps and sure enough exactly where the industry that Roy added on the virtual route you can see a similar industry and roads etc. on the Satellite image in the real world.

Wow, impressive dedication Roy. :Y:

Cheers,

Derek

Spooky if you call it Roy's Earth

Wow, Derek,

You notice the little big details of this one! Well this industry is not an industry but MOW siding illecillewaet. From here mainentance is done for the big tunnels and stretch to Revelstoke going West and Rogers Pass going East.
Thank you for the gorgeous screenies and pointing out THIS is more than a route or just driving..... BTW you probably left the switches names on to show the location right?
Your consists looks fabulous from this vantage point!!!

Keep them coming!

Roy,

I have been spending many happy hours on this so far. Many congratulations - well worth every penny (cent!) I paid. I think it would be good to make it right hand running so it is prototypical and because if you do it now it will be easier in the long run with all the further extensions yet to be released. Just my thoughts!
