Hello Roy and Ning

Good high quality work you have done there. I appreciate your professionalism, particulaly with the textures.
I notice that most of the screen-shots are aerial views, but as I run a route, I spend about 50% of the time in the cab so as to get a feel for driving from an engineers perspective.
Could you please give us some in-cab views from several different scenic spots (I guess it is all scenic), so as to better appreciate the route which we are looking forward to having soon. I'm sure there are others too, who like to be a driver from time to time, and would appreciate having a driver's eye view.

Regards

Eddie

Hallo Roy and Ning,

very nicely done – like always!!!
This is the stuff I have in mind when I remember my two Canada trips with a motorhome through the Rocky Mountains. One day I will return to do that again. I really plan this for the time in about one, two or three years.
Enjoy building your great route further on, it’s the best time you probably get with it. I am like – the way is the goal – and therefore it is a great feeling if a route has been finished and released, but in the other hand than it is just over.
Watching your progress pictures really remembers me also about my doing at Avery – Drexel.

Thanks a lot for your nice work.

In Cab views if N3V could change their draw distance in cab would be nice

Morning Eddie,

First of all thanks for the detailed post, nice comment and you have our support but we need your and other trainzers help on this one so far with no result from the forum!
Ever since i have trainz august 2004 I wanted to use the in cab mode when driving but after less than a minute I gave up on the fully distressing cut off short view you get of a almost not existing real world scenery out there.
A few weeks ago when i visited Gndome55 in cab view pict it looks like he had a draw distance further than normal but maybe the reason could be the desert scenery is not heavy and thus not kicks in the N3V spoiler draw distance reducer or sorts off super idiot programming features implemented:(... I think the loco he used was a JR one and I asked trainzers for info if this cabview has different settings allowing further draw distance in cab view.....
If today i find time after my xxxx eastbound arrives probably in the evening at Ottertail I can do some cab views in between ok?

thanks again

Roy;)

Gruszdich Tume we could both rent a mobil home

Hallo Tume, Danke lieber Freund echt Klasse,

WOW well you Tume Ning said is'nt that amazing people who live there or have visited the area remember it or make them remember so it must look like the real thing and...............omg Roy has never been there yes he used goole earth for the layout and just in the beginning a few picts and the rest is from the heart, mind and imagination. So it works nice a real good feeling a job well done, well not really haha this is only one out of 5 for the Vancouver Calgary but yes kind of finished one and the most difficult one first. Making scenery in vast mountains is quiet different than in a desert although in the hands of the right people you can make a desert bloom like a beautiful garden far from dull and most real (weel very well done GNdome55!).
Tume maybe we can team up next time you go the rockies over there and we rent a mobile home too and see what we created :hehe:
Yes your Avery Drexel was a absolute stunning experience way back when we started trainz thank your for the inspiration.
Thanks again for the objects created used in my routes they look very happy there!
How is your all seasonal refurbishing goin on on the AD route?? must be a hell of a job right?

Work to do tweaking and painting and burning growing new

Thank you Bob, the BC guilt and Deane knows about this, for sure appreciated you long time support very much.
Well the pict you put it is about time you get a big forest fire so you have to move on with TS12 and use better 3D trees available and there are plenty choices.
The river you need to tweak more to get close to the real work a river/creek does in real life in the various seasons and you need to put these textures in their and mix/blend rotate whatever so the job is not done yet and like everything in Trainz has a starting but no end.
You know i say this because you know me I not criticize you in a bad way, just give advice as always to grow and its long steep path up the mountain for the ultimate vista.
your friend

Very very nice screens and video. Really glad you pointed your forum out to me. I see you mentioned about possibly going all the way east. Sad note is happening here in the Ottawa Valley. CP is tearing up its old line from Ottawa to North Bay and shipping the rails out to Sask. and Alberta. A little story behind this reason can be found here. A new upstart railway tried to buy this line from CP hoping to join it with the CN line in Pembroke but the deal fell through. A little on that story here. I was looking into making this route for myself. Never would be anywhere near what the other creators do but it would be a line in my own backyard. Can't wait to you release your line for purchase. Its looks awesome.

@bob nope SSG group is the viewers only never or notposting just viewing is also a support group right?
@d53642 glad i did link you as probably many people not even know my stuff exists.
well we keep you all posted day by day and hope my nephew gets back on track finishing the website faster han I post picts every day waiting and waiting almost like N3V.......:o Lol nope he is a good guy just not as fast as I am.

Kind request to all trainzers to solve this stupid issue of in-cab view

@Eddie232 : well i knew already but still give it another try on the in cab view.....N3V garbage in is garbage out and the view from the cab is less than a few 100 mtrs or at best less than 1 km so only work for Auran in the city enclosed by many buildings obstructing views or full yard where all rolling stock obstruct the view.... no i am so frustrated on these little things with enormous consequences a good realistivc view like free roaming but from the cab.
Question to all serious trainzers:

Is there at this moment an in cab view allowing similar quality far viewing like free roaming in the vistas i create? i am not aware of any but happy to be updated and finally can do some in cab driving too.
first i really thought Gordon had a picture from in cab with loco from JR but asked and never got an answer on it so still in the dark.
A solution most appreciated and not only for me to be honest.

regards

Roy;)

As I understand it the cab view was shortened to improve the rendering of the game. I raised a stink about it when I first discovered it as well. I don't have any JR locomotives, except those that came with 12, so I can't help you there. I do think that any view that starts out with the in cab camera position will be limited. A second camera position made to 'work around' the cab view limitation, such as a specific 'out the window' view would probably work.

Great shots, as always Roy!

Cab view ...

Hi all,

FYI GNdome55 is on Trainz for Mac. The Trainz versions must be very different!

My next box will be a Mac Pro & goodbye to Windoze.

Your mileage may vary...
cheers,
--michael.

i hardly can imagine Mac has different draw distance in cab

Thanks Froobie i knew he is on Mac and that is why my screenshots have a better quality look and feel. Same happens in Windows when using directX or OpenGL. Yes Mac has some advantages but I personally would not trade Win pc for any Apple stuff.
Maybe someone from N3V could shed a light on this subject if they have time and are allowed to mingle with the outsiders world.
Personally i can only imagine one put a free roam view in the cab and maybe a JR sd70 Mac owner could help out here confirming and looking into the config file for evidence on this matter.
OK back to the dream world we live in here :hehe: reaching Albert Canyon and as promised some shots for today:
