Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Dear Roy & Ning,
Your work is amazing pure art!(And I know art my mum is an artist, kinda me too:hehe:, Not sure if thats a good thing) Roy ur 3d textures really bring out the nature in trainz and I hope one day ill be able to enjoy them. Your hard work is well worth it! I think it may have been your route that made me want to take a swing at BC, but in the CN form. Although I dont think my computer would ever be able to handle this route, the screenies mesmerize me! BTW I dont know if this is anything that is helpful kinda just well random info on my CN route, if you've heard of prince rupert, BC well Im there no matter how much I didn't want to go any further west im kinda at the literal farthest west I can go:hehe:.

Dear Montanawestern,
Roy and i thank you for the very warm support and appreciation of the slave labor trainz forced him into. Yes the 3D textures are amazing if in the right hands otherwise they look funny or even stupid as it is the touch Roy has to like paint the landscape and relentless fight the stupid N3v TS12 bugs like Dermmy and other fine trainzers to find "hidden" "lost/deteriorating textures" many times very faint but you can see once noticed.
Yes there will be a few where you can see kind of the border of the texture but most are carefully placed and accentuated to blend in the environment.
Interesting what you are after with the CN all West and north of Vancouver correct? Well you could use many of Roy's new textures and Roy will launch them with the route together so once you obtain a version you will get addicted more to texturing than playing:p

warmest regards,

Ning:cool:

4 Montanawestern an extra screenie 3D

would you prefer 3D object rock or 3D texture rock or and/or??

are these stones or textures?

Kamran I hope I not dissappoint you:hehe: but these are not stones objects but pure textures 3D. That is the ultimate goal to create a 3D illusion within the 3D project without cheating on the cause and on top not need difficult to impossible creations of 3D rock and still not get close to the effect needed.
I can say my dear trainzer friend king of the scum Deane made some very nice granite rock... They fit for certain purposes but cannot do the job I do on the entire track landscape withI call it simple high res 3D texture....
Hope this answers you question.
Again depending how the user is proficient in using textures and placing them in such a way each time different at any place is what you seeded is what you harvest. Even the best texture can have most ugly results in the landscape and give the impression the texture is not capable of handling the job.
I have some 30 or more I forgot the exact number of 3D textures in the pipeline and a few chosen to be guinea pig in this route will be released with the route when my website gets ready.

regards,

Roy;)

oops Ed where is the road or u mean track?:o

Roy will be happy when people like his work and achievements as it is almost insane what he is fighting against. No not his work but N3V's homework and responsability.
Lucky all is done he is just doing left and right some touch ups on rocks with amazing resuls to be honest but that is him he goes where nobody even think to go.
The nephew who helps Roy with the website is pretty sick now and delays his getting ready so he says well a Rembrandt or Van Gogh painting always needs some critical eye....:hehe:before saying ok done!

Well, These sure "re-defined" HD Textures... I use the built in TS09 textures to do most of my painting, it looks like once these are out, I will be using 3D textures mixed in with TS09 textures.... I have no clue how you got textures to be 3 dimensional, but it is freaking awesome... Thanks for your hard work guys, I had this route.. It ran ok on my computer, But it was an awesome route anyways...

Great work Roy and Ning. It's just simply fantastic! I just can't imagine a 10 hour route. Sounds like so much fun!

oops Ed where is the road or u mean track?

I meant the "roadbed" for the track right of way. I hate those blurry textures that you find often right under the ballast, as if it's on a piece of foggy glass! In the last screen, even if the rocks are not to ballast scale, the texture certainly looks much sharper than the norm. Well done.

Hahaha and now imagine Dricketts one has to test this route and look for slightly spontaneous dissapearing blended textures and spline spontaneous change height when accidently smoothed track to close to swichpoints and or spontaeneous disconnected Yarn/yarnish objects and switches ......... and believe it or not surviving all these ordeals finishing in beauty (the route not me i look 10 years older ask Deane) and ready to serve the community with Roys Trainz TS14
BTW the measured time elapsed from east to west vice versa is based upon only obeying signals and speedlocks. No oncoming traffic hotbox or drop at the yard is close to 9 hours so 10 is a very optimistic figure if doing the real job.
Even testing when not falling asleep at the job is absolutely exciting with all the scenery surrounding you in sheer beauty and vastness. you gonna love it like we do.

Today I almost had a heart attack when testing the routes on my 6 year old Notebok Acer Travelmate 8204 with a Radeon 1600 card so an old horse but I could test it with sliders down to 3500m detail scenery half and trees detail 75% or half and believe it or not with a similar consist heavy load graphics I could run it with fps average 25 sometimes 30-40 but in the city 16-18 but not stuttering like hell so that tells me any computer younger than mine and ready for normal gaming should be just fine. Wow amazing to see the stuff running on that notebook just awesome. so it means I did the job more than well an my calculations of what and what not within a given baseboard payed off big time.

Enough said.

Great weekend

Roy n Ning

Ed,

Today home alone Ning has to go funeral and yes I told her you meant track bed and fully agree most of them are plastic or absolutely not fit for the job.
Try to use what gives the correct atmosphere far away and nearby and works most of the times.BTW i tried to contact Fred Zorronov but his pm is full so tried email via the pm but not heard back from him as I use 3 of his beautiful textures but they need a higher res nearby so hope one knows Fred reads this and relay my request for updates if possible.
A replace asset is out f the question with the hidden bugs behind it than have to accept these textures are blurry closeby:'(
Thanks for the reply.

Have a great weekend

roy n Ning!
