thank you guys for the most encouraging posts today! Feel the energy flow back in my fingers, put on my boot and start texturing the Kicking Horse River upstream N of Field....(no not this pict.)

Roy:wave:

Thanks to you Roy! Wonderful route, amazing every time I start it up. Getting about 35-40 FPS on the most detailed dense forests.

It really makes up for the lack of good Canadian routes. I especially like this is not fictional.

giving arraial's road system a shot

Paul thank you so much for sharing the vids and nice comments, most appreciated.
Today I post a few test picts of arraials road and try to get a feel for it but traffic yes looks better but drives at times on the highway in both directions like ghost cars......arrrgh
Give me your input guys if I should continue implementing this road system for the highway at least.

tomorrow more shots.

Roy, Ning:wave:

Although empty highways are not an unreasonable sight for a route which passes through a lot of isolated areas like this one does, traffic is nice to have. I would say that if you can come up with something you are happy with, without causing yourself too much pain, please do.

Morning Mike,

Well i hesitate because arraial not have a lot of choice in intersections and road types and no season.. no critics to him he make so msny beautiful gems more than happy.
Maybe just accept the old way of road choices an no traffic till N3V get there ducks in a row and make normal running traffic.

Roy

few more road shots arraial roads

well i will go back to the original choices of roads as arraial not has sufficient road types and intersections no blame to him absolutely not.

Travelling East through Kicking Horse Canyon

The Canadian is heading East through Kicking Horse Canyon. This is a great vantage point as you can see kilometers back beyond the bridge for the Trans Canada highway a distant mountain.

trainz2013030617413317.jpg

The engine is crossing yet another bridge. You can see the Trans Canada Highway on the opposite shore of the river.

trainz2013030617432223.jpg

The Canadian "surges" forward on the Eastbound track.

Roy;)

Hallo,

again great screens!!

Back in summer 2004 I used to be at the western end of that avalanche shed (between the avalanche shed and the short tunnel which is about 100 meters west of it) getting some photos and videos from trains passing by.

You just used the right texture to get that larges area of gravel done in a realistic way - well done!

BTW: I would like to see how you created that tunnel with DLS stuff - perhaps you have a screen from it :-)

Some decades ago there was no avalanche shed there. But one day a big avalanche came down from the Mountain and destroyed a little portion of the RR. CP had to rebuild it. The introduction of such a avalanche shed was the best they could have done to prevent further rock falls.

Your's TUME :)

PS: You created a road - loop (visible in the middle of the background). That is a campground where we used to stay over night with our motor-home back in our Canada-Holidays in 2004.

The dificulty is to get the tunnel exposed enough in the dirt and still have a tunnel inside.

Here is one of my dilemm'as with track i always tend to fall back to Olegkhims track because of the bolts detail and animated track tunrouts! Although here i used the beautiful 130lb track from Gfisher but than i miss the animated tracks so stuck in the mud. If anyone knows animated turnouts fitting the gfisher track here shown most appreciated otherwise I fall back to my concrete tracks and turnouts.

Spring is almost here!!

Spring is almost here Roy. :Y: But a couple more Winter screenshots to "suffer" through.

The Canadian is nearing the east end of the Mountain subdivision but there is still a ways to go.

Yet another bridge to cross in the Kicking Horse River canyon at post 27.0.

trainz2013030617482892.jpg

From across the river we get a good view of the train and the canyon walls.

Roy;)

Djoetje home alone and Ning take video and ask Djoetje to say something, Ning is home for a few days and ask djoetje to say something:heartbraking he is in his park.......

The Trans Canada highwy means we have twice the route!!

I recently realized that because Roy is also doing the entire Trans Canada highway (eventually from Vancouver to Calgary) that he is providing all of Roy's Trainz family with a second way to enjoy the trip. We just need to drive the Trans Canada for added enjoyment (and we could do it a 100 km/hour as well :D).

Here is one of the many tunnels on the highway East of Golden.

trainz2013030617332945.jpg

Some truck traffic is crossing the Kicking Horse River on a bridge heading in both directions. .

trainz2013030617355384.jpg

This is a "squirrels" eye view from the trees.

trainz2013030617370709.jpg

I guess it would mean adding invisible track and drivable vehicles, but it's fun to think of the possibilites. :D

Cheers,

Derek

PS: Roy, thanks for the video of Djoetje. I really enjoyed seeing it. I understand how being away from him must be difficult. I hope you can return SOON.

morning Derek,

thanks, Djoejte makes my cry when I see him on the vid 800 km from home. I booked for three month and hope my skin recover as it does slowly on the arms not the neck and breast that is much more damaged so might be a healing process of month half a year or longer ouch. But i will go visit Djoetje next month a few days only just o hug him and tell him how much I love and miss him:'(

see you discovered what I wrote long time ago that I support not only the track version aslo Highway #1! See so many place where the f....g splines float over and over again as they are not linked to the road and as such you will see floating stuff making me tired as I corrected already so many places.
In my route CPR and others I have drivable versions in the fridge and once comps are fast enough and spline bugs fixed I will update routes with that feature. It is indeed all part of Roys Trainz philosophy.

Nice shots though.

best regards,

Roy:wave:

Open the fridge door

Hi Roy:

Here's hoping that you will "open the fridge door" sometime and let out the drivable Trans Canada Highway. When you do let's hope someone has made a drivable convertible so that we can put the top down, set the environment to a sunny July day and go for a drive through some of the most beautiful scenery in the World. :Y:

Meanwhile, back in our Canadian Winter, The Canadian is approaching another bridge for the Trans Canada highway.

trainz2013031017163179.jpg

The Dome car as always is a real treat to see at the back of the train.

trainz2013031017183194.jpg

The Canadian continues East through the Kicking Horse River canyon.

trainz2013031017194228.jpg

Don't worry Roy, as far as I am concerned in Roy's Virtual World, we will turn instantly back to summer once Spring officially arrives later this month (even though Winter really continues much longer in the real world in the British Columbia interior). Isn't the Virtual World marvelous? :D

Cheers,

Derek
