Canadian Rocky Mountains 2011

Hallo,

it is always great to look at your screens!! As I told you I have been in Revelstocke back in 2002 as I spend three weeks of holydays driving a motorhome and doing a lot of hiking in the Canadian Rock Mountains.
I also have been inside the RR Museum – which I recognize at one of your screens too. Nicely done!!!
As well I see a lot of my houses been used at your route. During the last weeks I just updated most of these houses. Now the assets have got a better texture and a normal map onto it, but I kept the mesh dimensions. But the most important thing was to get season change working at it. The release will need a bit more time as it will come along with the new route which still is not finished yet.

In between I could solve some problems about my HV-Lines you used bear the Revelstocke Dam. I still did not fix the problem, but now I know how to do that. The HV-line-update will solve the terrible looking cables and will come along with level of detail and season change technique. But please give me a bit more time.

Your’s TUME

Hallo Lieber Freund Tume!!

Ning and I thank you for all the goodies with all our heart! what a nice comment and follow up.... most appreciated and surprise too. i while ago i wanted to mail you and than forgot again as finishing better dry clean this route to acceptable for release and now building the website.
A few more days not more than 2 weeks it should be up and running to say it careful as you never know its all the first time and have to get it right or the rivet counters crawl all over us.
Yes i use a lot of stuff and think your creations feel very happy and proud to be part of this what Ning calls proudly the route of the century:hehe: and maybe true when you will see it.
Deane did and he needed tiger balm to revive he was overwhelmed by something:p ( maybe Djoetje the muntjac walking around us while working).
If the houses will be seasonal that would be awesome together with Davesnow and Ed;s seasonals we get closer to all seasonal only DMdrake and a few others to follow!
BTW the tension cables I got a kind to work not nice yet but already little bit better viewable by changing the vertex offset a little bit left or right I forgot so now where the cables cross the tracks over the valley you can see now those cables too from certain angles.
Would be nice if you can change them somewhere in the future.
I will not replace them as I think they are the best and just wait absolutely no problem.
I see you like the fantasy at the RR museum I used Willem2 his airport building.....
Haha i showed it to Deane and told him i put a steam engine in the show room in the front and positioned it in such a way that the smoke would exit just in the chimney that was by chance in the building :hehe:

It's funny Ning laughs loud and said Roy yesterday was route testing and said Ning this is a nice shot of real 3D texturing and said trainzers gonna love it I know for sure as Roy said you CAN TOUCH THE ROCK without 3D glasses.
But as always when Roy thinks he has a nice shot from the technical aspect side and good looking and expect people to respond with comment nothing happens except you Tume.
No it is not fishing for compliments but sharing techniques to make it work at the best and still Ning's choices of screenshot do the average to very well good job so Roy rest his case again and try to move on and keep over excitement like 3D textures to us:confused:

Deane, Ning says hello and a big scum hug and kiss she said the BB picture (BB stands for big bummer;)) is really well done and yes not part of the Canadian Rocky mountains but part of this thread and our friendship.
Sorry that even here in the NE of Thailand we could not find scum and crap in the rain season and the humidity and temp( not high at all) did not allow scum to build anywhere like in the US and EU plentiful.
Ning said @Kamran thank you on behalve of Deane and said Deane chuckles that his pict was commented over Roy's choice 3D rock texture.
Anyway more of Roy's 3D textures shots available on his facebook page.
Tume once more thank you and a big hug from both of us for your creations.

Roy n Ning:wave:

Great texture shot above, and I'm happy that Thai pond scum has been added to the pond scum library. I'm glad you folks had a good time together!

I'm really liking the neighborhood in Revelstoke you did! That must have taken hours too!

Morning Enginewhistle thank you but it not took hours, if I remember well it took more than 1 month if not 2 to at least to get the entire neighborhood and industry area done...

Roy;)

Bc guilt stands for British Coumbia I assume Deane

:hehe::hehe::pWell I have to explain to Ning you try to show the scum in the Mekong river behind us btw nice shot Deane first thought Ning with somene else  Lol.
You did not have to replace the scum shot which was absolutely great shot so......

Have a great weekend down under and elsewhere

roy:wave:

deane can you put one of yo and me at the mekong next to Ning n me?? Real trainzers at the world famous Mekong river in our backyard!

not even halfway driving 4 hours already

testing driver till the last minute when the website is ready not yet though....
Driving this morning from 6 am and more than 10 hours all the way to Ottertail/Field,BC,CA if no stop on the wayat Golden yard of course.
As you can see testing a route like this is not just quick and dirty at takes more than a full day to get from west to east or east to west if nothing happens and all goes well, just the remind those what it takes to build and something like this and on most unique is for sure to make it work!.

website should see the end of the tunnel end of next week I hope

Mooorning ya'll,

@Bryinmich thanks finally someone sees 3D textures at its best and I changed the look and feel again after Deane visited me saying to bright a few ( I knew kind off) and waited till now to darken the normal maps a bit more with the nice side effect of give the rock even more granular look and feel like a sandy skin if you know what I mean.
Anyone reading this can point me to built in or other fine content creators having similar textures or better out there?
Always in for new stuff for the future and updates later. Always in motion.
Yesterday I was really sick so had to stop at noon now getting better after a strong black coffee noooo not americano that's water coffee ouch.
@64Warhorse and many out there patiently waiting for the release I assumed end of aug early sept and see how time flies....
But really one more final run up and down the entire route which takes a few days so long and to many details to look through to repair one more time hidden or faint crosses of "missing texture thingy" and close it.
The website should be up and running somewhere I hope next week and than see if it works. For sure the website will have its little hick ups in the beginning so bare with me us in the beginning (learning by doing)
The products will be of the finest seen around Ning and I guarantee.

thanks you all for the shown support and patience.

Ning n Roy;)

East of Stoney Creek bridge, Griffith siding

im not familiar with this area but is the latest screen shots of kicking horse pass?

Nope this is coming from Rogers Pass the Mc Connaught tunnel eastward going to Lake Kinbasket, Donald Station, Golden yard North and than into the Kicking horse pass!. From this picture it is till some 2-3 hours before reaching Golden if not to much traffic and than 2,5-3 hours up the Kicking horse Pass to Ottertail/Field

a disk crash very depressing when ready for release first route

Ihad a very depressing week just arranging everything for route and deps setup and implementing in webshop (next week when first step to walk ready,X fingers) windows started freezing and finally crashed. Lucky I had a spare disk with "older win7" but a lot of setup again. Yes everybody will say backup windows but ever since I have win and win7 making a normal serious windows backup seems to be impossible so after 8 years of "crash free disk" it is not to bad just only the worst moment.
Murphy's law they call it and once I did ask Ze Murphy if he or his family was related and or behind it i got kind of banned for a few weeks so better not step on the very long down under toes :hehe:

Ning is out of town till this evening so i have to do her weekly weekend duties so to speak.
so here we go nothing special just quick and dirty

ya'll have a nice weekend
Roy:confused:

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time of it, but it may help to remind you that you aren't the only one! The shots are magnificent, and show your superior attention to detail. This route is surely a must have, and I'm saving my pennies! Best to you and Ning.

Hi Ed,
next year I will give you all details of what happened this week and you will not believe it for sure. not to upset anyone as people always read things diffrent than the entire story can be captured fairly in a fe words and not create overkill in the wrong way.
Yes everything is under control the captin said of the Mytanic and continued his dinner
I would say lucky I saw the icebergs and could save my ship ready for the first ever maiden trip, proud to say and amazing I got that far with hard labour Deane would say for sure.

Warmest regards,

roy n Djoetje (he lost his first antler, one more to go, safe the furniture)
