I recently installed the new patch and it wiped out all my freight cars and most of my engines. Dont know what to do.I am running TS 2012 and patch number 49922

You might check to see if CMP shows them as having errors...it might be as easy as verifying each piece to get them corrected.

Nott to be dumb but what is the CMP i am still learning???i even bought new engines from jointed rail yesterday and they arent working either its almost my whole fleet!!!

CMP=Content Manager Plus. This was the version of Content Manager for TRS2006. For TS2010 it's CM3.3 and for TS2012 it's CM3.6. Launch TS2012 and select Content to open CM3.6. Set the Search Panel to Category - Locomotives, find your JR locos, right click and check them for missing dependencies or for errors.
