Call to all concerned

This is a call to the keyboards of many skilled computer minds who create excellent trains for the Download Station. I have trainz 2010, live in Florida, and love Florida Railroading. I do not have the knowledge or the capability to build a Florida Base route. In the area in which I live, the original Atlantic Coast Line, Seaboard Air Line and Tavares and Gulf railroad tracks have long since been abandoned. I challenge all good route builders to construct a route, based on ACL/SAL railroading in Florida during the era between 1940-1957. I'm particularly interested in the line that ran through Winter Garden and Clermont. I challenge locomotive builders to construct steam and Diesel locomotives, SPECIFIC to the Seaboard and Atlantic Coast Line. Like the ACL R-1, P-5-A, E3, E7s, and E6s. SAL's P series, ALCO locos, and Baldwin's. To the rolling stock builders, I challenge you to construct rolling stock for those lines as well, In particular for cabooses. Streamliners such as the ACL Champion. And Heavyweight trains like the Orange Blossom Special and the Palmetto Limited. And Finnally, to the ones who construct buildings and scenery, I challenge you to build buildings specific to Central Florida History. Like the stations in Clermont and Winter Garden, and the Winter garden city and Castle Hill near Highway 50. This is my challenge PM me if your interested.

You do realize the time and effort it takes to make a single locomotive or piece of rolling stock let alone an entire route? You might want to phrase your "requests" in a way that's not so "challenging".

You don't have the knowledge? Well then start learning. Don't have the capability, not yet but if you try you will learn. If you want to challenge someone, challenge yourself and make all the above. Alternatively I am willing to work on commission of $50,000 a year for the duration of the project plus research and travel expenditure.

i should have put when i wrote this a month ago
"If you are interested" as i said it was just a dream

It sounds like an interesting project, but I like to create what I want to create and not get tied down to one project, even if there is money involved.

Good luck. And learning to create routes and assets isn't that hard to do. Start small in Surveyor until you get the hang of it.

I only do Custom modeling and Canadian works mostly for my self or my routes there a long weighting list for requested custom models I work in my own time and mostly alown

Most models ( the Few of us who stell do it ) are busy or uninterested in doing this kind of stuff.

Sorry to rain on ya your better off doing it your self I feel the same as Dave on this one.

However If you like to join my team PM me on my website everyone dose there own thing.

this is a good place to start:

The ACL and the SAL in Florida huh. Thats ambitious. Let me just give you a little insight into my endeavors. First off, Ive been working on the North end of the Seaboard for better than 2 years now. The Norlina Subdivision of the Richmond Division of the Seaboard Air Line to be exact, 1969, during the post merger years. The amount of research I have had to do has been well into the thousands of hours. The amount of structures ive built has been silly. The changes from the SAL to the SCL in those years and backdating what exists now, to then, has been arduous. Its not a simple task, your talking about years of work. Even with a team working on the same goal, your still talking, years.
Listen to Nikos. He speaks the truth. Learn to do it. Its a much more satisfactory feeling to see your route during your time frame come together. If you want to learn, all it takes is trying. And the truth be told, I have spent over a grand in research and travel fees in the last 2 years alone. And I even worked over this road when I was with CSX! Good luck and if you ever need help, there is a lot of people here willing to help you get your feet wet.

Hes right my route Dragons Pass has taken me 6 years to build with over 300 assists I made for it and I'm not even 50% of the way done it and my CN route as well that is a nother project. trust me its not easy to make everything. roume wasn't built in a day.

Im not a creator as I would define some of our excellent creators, but I've dug in and had a go at learning how to do this for myself. It would be better if you had phrased your OP to something like:
"I have a dream to build a route based in Florida. I have no idea where or how to start so can someone point me in the right direction as to how to get started please?"
You would find folk here would be only to pleased to help you get started. But i have to say that what you are asking for is very ambitious. I would suggest you start with something small - a single baseboard. Lay some track on it and add the scenery. You will find as you progress through that single board you will find yourself going back to the beginning over and over again - correcting and perfecting things. But gradually that single baseboard will expand into 2 or 3 or 10 boards. What will you have learned on the way? apart from gaining some skills in creation - you will gain some great friends willing to help and correct you on your way when you have a problem.
You will also need to learn to use other programs as well. Transdem for example - to create the terrain, blender - to create the locos and wagons, and gimp to texture them. This is a very immersive hobby - one that can take hundreds of hours of your life to create something that you might bin because you think its not good enough. But eventually you will produce something and put up a few screen shots and folk will start saying - "when are you going to release it?"

So I guess my advise is to ask the right question :)

Along with the 3 years+ I have also put into redoing Dragon Pass and the countless rekins. :hehe: Does take a lot of effort to complete a massive project like the one you are proposing OP.

FCEN59,

We can help you make your route by showing you how. Be willing to learn along the way with lots of patience and some frustration as you strive for excellence and quality. Be prepared to redo stuff over and over until you are satisfied with the end result, and like any artistic venture, the route will never be completed as you'll go back and want to dig in and fix stuff you find. I've been at my own fictional route for 10 years, and have started other projects that have been in progress for not quite as long.
