Brisbane CityTrain - 800x600 pixels

Okay, firstly, you lot are going a little too fast for me to catch up. I do have school work to think of, you know.

So, just to clarify:
Base Section: Cricketstar (trackwork), Ghostryder has offered to help with signalling, and I will be adding wires and scenery, as well as ironing out the kinks in Cricketstar's work.

Gold Coast Line: Handled by myself at this stage. Have started working on Robina Station. DEM includes Acacia Ridge and Varsity Lakes.

Ipswich: Michael and the QGR boys on it once I get the DEM that may include Rosewood. ("That's the sound of the men, working on the track... gaaang."):hehe:

Ferny Grove: Cricketstar, if no-one else puts their hand up, you may do that section.

North Coast Line: I'm going to split this DEM into three pieces, so the map itself doesn't break the 50MB limit. This will be Northgate - Caboolture, Caboolture - Nambour, Nambour - Gympie. AJC has offered to assist on this section, Cricketstar may help him also if he wishes.

Shorncliffe: Cricketstar is busy enough as it is, so if no-one puts their hand up, I may work on this line.

Cleveland: AJC is a local on this line, so he may work on it if he wishes. Otherwise I could have a go. DEM will include Port of Brisbane.

Any other volunteers willing to help this massive undertaking, please reply here, or send me a PM.:)

I will be posting shots of Robina once I get it to a reasonable state.

Happy Trainzing,
Scott.;)

Now off you go, best get working!:p

now i call dibz on ferny grove and i am really keen to do the line from virginia to nambour which is roughly the same length as the gold coast line

and with the base section ghosty is going to have to do track direction markers

speaking of screenshots i should post some of the stations and normanby and mayne with trains in it

and with acaicia ridge & moolabin, i will laty the track if you dont want to scottling

NEW UPDATE: I've had a chat with DaSmith 75 (otherwise known as Clinton) who says he would like to try the Shorncliffe branch.

So, building orders are as follows:

Base Section: Myself, Cricketstar and Ghosty on signals.

Gold Coast: Myself, with possible assistance from Cricketstar.

Ipswich: Michael and the QGR boys, "working on the track... gaaang!":hehe:

Ferny Grove: Cricketstar.

North Coast: AJC and Cricketstar (and you'd better co-operate!:p )

Shorncliffe: Our new builder, Clinton. (It's his Birthday today, just so y'all know)

Cleveland: As yet undecided. I will do this branch if no-one else wants to.

And this is how it looks at present. Jake, Michael and Ghosty, I have your emails. AJC and Clinton, I will need you to send me your emails in a PM so I know where to send the DEMs once I have them.

Also, I would like to see regular updates so I know who is where. I need to know just how much fiddling I have to do once I get the modules back. I'll be doing all the final testing before release. Don't worry, you will all be given full credit for your respective modules.:D

I am not asking for beta testers for quite a while yet.

Until my next update,
Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

In other news... I have overlooked a really quite large issue, involving the uniformity of all the separate sections.:o

I only now realise that everyone is going to want to go off on their own tangent and use whatever they like. Of course, this is going to mean a lot more work to get it right at the end.

So, I would like to lay down some basic guidelines that the sections would follow:

Track: As the 3ft 6in track from the Yahoo page is made by alby6 who has not been contacted in a long time, there are issues with bringing the track to the DLS. Hence I have opted to use the track group "Nippon Senro" by rossolabo. It is the only suitable track I was able to find (Ghosty found it for me), but if you have another track that you believe is suitable that I haven't heard of, please let me know.

Catenary: Now this is an awkward one. I am opting to use the UK-style wires by Auran for the inner-city areas, then the QR-style catenary for suburban areas, and WilliamG's new catenary for the outer areas.

Platforms: I personally am using the CityRail style platforms by Deadly, as the QR platforms are dated and look shabby.

Signals: The VSR signals by Bloodnok, as they are able to have feathers added as the user pleases. Easy to set up and a lot newer-looking than the QR signals already in the game.

Tunnels: The AJS Tunnel series. As you all know, the regular tunnels are far too inflexible, so AJS is the only way. Preferably the D or S variants, not that I can set them up too well. But I'm learning...

I think that should cover it.
Cricketstar will send me his tracjwork on the base section as soon as he can, and will start work on the North Line with AJC soon afterwards. All other lines, I still need to request the DEMs. He places all his DEM routes in the storage section of VicTrainz, here: http://www.storage.victrainz.com.au/Jerkers_DEM_maps/

I will now go through the endless battle to hopelessy download all 765 of my content updates, with a CMP that just isn't working!
Happy Trainzing,;)

Here's some feedback:

I can see now that it's going to take a long time to iron out the kinks in your trackwork.

I appreciate you doing the trackwork for me, but please, try to do it a bit more slowly so that it looks half-decent next time.

There are some basic guidelines that content creators follow:
1) If it's worth doing, do it properly.
2) If it looks like the cat did it, it's not worth releasing
3) Use the Straighten Track tool.

Luckily, I can fix this up, but please, in future, take it easy, compare your DEM images with Google Maps AND nearmap.com. And for goodness sake, try to make my job easier! Remembering that this is MY project, and that you are assisting me by doing the trackwork.

That is all.

I will be passing the route to Ghostryder for signalling and applying speed signs once I've corrected the mistakes.

Happy Trainzing,;)

great to see the boss loves my work:'(:'(:sleep::sleep:
and if your talking about the flyover good luck getting it realistic because the legs run perpendicular to the side of the bridge and i have just gone around the legs but heres another hint, i dont come on here to cop criticism like that

A Congratulations From The Commissioner & Board

@Jake, us lads [including myself] aka the QGR boys think you should be commended for your hard work, and we fully appriciate how amazing you have turned a bare map with tracks.

The Commissioners medal should be awarded to you, to the services to the Railways.

By the way, I will have to track down what DEM the Ipswich line is under. Its not even listed in Jerkers map section. Thats unusual??

Okay Cricketstar, I have been a bit harsh towards you.

I am very grateful for the work you have put into this section. I just think that if you put a little more time, patience and care into your building, it will look that much better.

As for the bridge, I'll find some way of fixing the supports to make it run evenly.

I apologise for appearing very critical towards must be a maximum effort for you. Perhaps, in order to build up your skills a bit, work on some small, detailed routes, try some things that you think look good. Once you have that experience under your belt, try something larger.

Once I get the route back from you, I will spend whatever time is necessary to fix it up, and then pass it to Ghostryder for signalling, after which I will finish the details.

I commend you on your hard work and dedication to the QR CityTrain project.:)

Trainz89, may I suggest that you too try the above mentioned "small route-building" approach. I myself am working on one at the moment that is no larger than six boards, but is packed with detail. It is only my humble opinion that you too could use some extra skills.

I'll leave you to it.
Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.
