Brisbane CityTrain - 800x600 pixels

Hi Chuffy and NormP,

Following is a picture of the track.......
<< snipped >>
.......................and Brisbane dual guage screenshots will soon follow, as soon as I figure out AJS tunnelling.....

Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

Scott,
If you manage to figure it out, can you sling me a little tutorial? I recently downloaded the Dighole and one of the trackless tunnels and can't for the life of me, get the tunnel to sit inside the terrain.
Thanks
Glen

Small update:

I'm in the process of putting together an Excel spreadsheet of all the stops on all the lines on the CityTrain network, partly so I know where I am:hehe: , and partly so I can make accurate runs for the sessions. I rode the Gold Coast line twice yesterday, and they've changed the express sections.

You see, it used to be express Beenleigh to South Bank, only stopping at Loganlea and Yeerongpilly, but now it's express beenleigh to Park Road stopping at Loganlea and Cooper's Plains.:o I don't know either.

Screenshots not far away!
Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

Scott,
The runs for the Gold Coast line were altered in the last major timetable change. We (that's the crews) believe that it was then that the timetable planning was taken over by Translink, as it was about that time that they started to come out into prominence. Why Coopers as a stop we have no idea; possibly one of the Translink bigwigs lives in the area and wants a quick ride home. It was always stopped at the 'Pilly' as it is a junction station and expresses always stop at major junctions and Loganlea was for the hospital. There are still some that run differently in the peaks so it might be worth it to get hold of some timetables and have a good look. There is one that I've worked in the afternoon that runs South Bank straight thru to Beenleigh. If I can help let me know.
Regards
Glen

Timetables

Thanks lenice.

I have a big map of the entire contry's railways, and on the back cover is a map of the Brisbane network, including some peak-hour express journeys. You may be able to confirm them from the Excel spreadsheet I've put together based only on that map. Now if only I could show it to you...

Expect a PM soon.
Happy Trainzing,;)

Coming Soon..... Bridges!

Hi Trainzers.

I have exciting news! Not only am I going to post shots sometime soon, but bendorsey has been kind enough to model for me... the Victoria Bridge! This will feature in the next batch of shots, and I may ask him to model the Kurilpa, Goodwill, Captain Cook and maybe Story Bridges too. I don't want to overwhelm the guy!:hehe:

So there you have it.

Happy Trainzing,;)
Scott.

Hi Trainzers.

Sorry for the amount of posts getting monotonous, someone please break up the boredom of this thread!:hehe:

I have screenshots! Today, I'm featuring the newly-made Victoria Bridge by bendorsey.:D

VictoriaBdge1.jpg

The bridge from the southern side, Riverside Expressway below.

VictoriaBdge2.jpg

The western end as viewed from the railway. (The big red spot is supposed to be a traffic light; the DEM is actually the local street map!:p )

VictoriaBdge3.jpg

Finally, the Victoria Bridge as viewed from water level. Yes, I know it's a really deep blue! I can fix it up for a muddy brown instead if you all want.:D

I hope you enjoy the shots, somebody please reply to them, I'm getting post after post to myself, I don't want it that way!:hehe: Exactly half the posts here are mine!

Happy Trainzing,
Scott.;)

Looking great, Scottling! Really looking forward to this. I have to admit, when you weren't making any new posts I began working on my own Brisbane route...I had the railway routes and DEM in TransDEM and everything! Great to see you're making some progress, looks awesome. Perhaps you'll have some friendly competition in the near future :hehe:

Cheers,
Jack

In the near future? I've already had competition. First NormP had a go (I'm still running his from time to time) and then Ghostryder did a bit with his version of Ipswich-Petrie-Ferny Grove-South Brisbane-wherever map.:p

Now there's myself and you Mr Pineapple, and I do hope I get mine done (ish) first, because I will not be beaten by someone who started later!:hehe:

I want to work on it, but I've been inspired to do other things. Plus I'm busy escorting B17's with P-40's against Bf110's on IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946, my brand-new addition to my group of flight simulators. The other is Combat Flight Simulator, Microsoft's now outclassed attempt at the same thing.:p

So yeah, Happy Trainzing everybody!;)
Scott.

SHHH! Be vewy, vewy quiet!

We're hunting gimmie-pigs! Hehehehehe:hehe:

Okay, so this is Roma Street station, in its as yet incomplete phase of construction. No signals, no canopies, no wires, not even a full count of tracks and platforms. A lot of work ahead for me.

Until the next proper screenshots,
Happy Trainzing!

Interesting suggestion Trainz89. I would be happy to hand it over to you and your QGR people, however it is a modern-day DEM map and it could be tricky back-dating it that far.

However, I will have a go, just throw me a PM with your email and I *should* be able to do something for you:D .

Happy Trainzing,
Scott.

I will enjoy this when it is sent to DLS! I live near the factory that makes every QR, South African and Pacific National locomotive which is quite interesting when seeing them come in and out of town.

Fathers Day Memo Plus Back To The Gabba!!!!

Hey Scott,

Nothing's impossible if you put a clear mind towards it, and on a note; did you include DEM in the route of the area around Wooloongabba, South Bank & Dutton Park. I always wanted to include the Gabba Depot, I think I will email or PM Peter about getting some custom content built (CLASSIFIED!)

Hello y'all.

I have a screenshot just to keep the thread alive. I have changed the track, have got updated wires, and should be finished the station soon. Apologies for the appalling lack of progress, I just haven't had time or motivation. Anyhoo, on with the screenies!

Brisbane6.jpg

A busy morning at Roma Street. QR #2308 and 21xx lead a northbound container train into the wye, while the Cleveland-bound EMU departs platform 5. An XPT is waiting in the interstate platform, which is soon to be built over with the bus terminal.

Signalling, electrification and interactive stations soon to be added.

Narrow gauge track is available from the QDRTrainz Yahoo group, it is QR 3ft 6in Track 09 by alby6. WilliamG has provided the updated catenary I mentioned, as well as a crossing sign and several new locos.

Happy Trainzing, I have a lot of big, new screenies coming up, so don't nobody fret none!:hehe:
