Bridge editing question

So I've found some bridges to use on my Route however they have less than desirable track on them, whether it be wrong gauge of rail or ties don't look right. I've attempted to edit the track contained in the bridge asset but then this causes the asset to become faulty usually due to the age of asset. Upon fixing all the errors and warnings however, usually the bridge itself will disappear and leave only the track suspended in the air. You are unable to add mesh tables to bridge assets I believe, so I don't know what exactly occurs to make the bridge itself disappear and only the new track remain. Help?

Hi James. You can consider laying your preferred track right over the bridge itself, lowering the bridge just enough for your own track to "cover up" the bridge's. Only thing you need to be careful with is placing signals and trackside assets, and which track they snap to. Test it by placing an engine on the line.

Hi James:
Post a couple of bridge kuids.and the track you want to use.
If I don't have Ill DL
I'm getting fairly good at fixing old version bridges.
I have fix many bridge assets from all over the world.
When / if I fix a couple of your bridges I will try to show you how to do it.

I use Notebook
AssetX with scripts
Paint shop pro 8.1 (best rated version)
Tips and tut's from all over.
and just plain stubborn.

I have just been though this , changing bridges to NG in a SG route I am modifying. I found that they worked ok when I changed the 'bridgetrack' kuid to the Ng track kuid I wanted by edit in explorer.
cheers,

The vast majority of my bridges use rail only track.

Kuid:35412:38051 is standard gauge.
Kuid:35412:38061 is 3 foot gauge.

Obviously changing from one to the other requires changing a single digit in the config file where appropriate. The only disadvantage is the stringers (longitudinal beams) might not be under the rails anymore. Noticeable close up - but so much from a distance.

This does not apply to my moving bridges. They all use invisiblbe track. The ties and rails you see are part of the mesh. Changes here are pretty mush impossible unless you have the mesh.

I'll toss some Kuids on here shortly but Im mostly using trestle span bridges and trying to get the JR w/o terrain rails on. IMO their rails and ballast look the most detailed. I just hate when I switch to a different kuid and the rail are a different width, it looks so unreal.

I made a 36 inch gauge trestle kit. It has 1, 2, 3, and 4 bent high trestle splines and all kinds of different style bridges. 50 some different parts.

My apologies, that is the bridge that I was able to change on my own. I wanted the same track on the Maine 2 foot high trestle <kuid2:86661:38202:1>, this is the one which disappears on me all but the new track.

That's another built-in <kuid:86661:38202> v1.3.
Where are you getting the up-dated bridges.
I'm going to take a nap now..
Try the same on that one.
