Bought on steam can't find the key

This morning I bought Trainz Classics 1 & 2 on steam. To download content, I need the serial number. I've been looking all day, there website is always broken. I am getting pissed of by this game (and I haven't started playing). I spent £ 20 on it, I would like to play it. Does any one know how to get my key if I bought it on Steam ?

I don't think you should be getting pissed off by the game, rather the company that sold it to you.

Well the thing is, I never had any problem with steam. They have a system to manage the CD keys. I think auran, forgot about it. It was released only a few days ago on steam. I'll have to wait till the problem is fixed.

If it was purchased other than thru Auran , should he not contact the company he bought it from ?

Another example IMHO , of why one should purchase directly from Auran .

Hi...

I had exactly the same problem. I got TC 1+2 off steam and no key... I finaly got it from Steam Support.... you'll need to raise a call with them... took me a few messages to get them to understand what was required but you might do better now I've managed to get one...

If it helps here is my support number that you can refer to where I finaly got one so they understand what your asking for...

For info I also contacted Auran support (told by steam to at one point) and they hadn't heard of steam and didn't know how I installed the game without the key..

I finally managed to have it. Now I can confirm that there are reasons to be pissed off. The downloading speed is 1KB/s, nothing I download is working half of the things are missing.

So far my experience with this game is bad. I just want to run a TGV. Is that hard to ask ?

Can anyone just tell me what content to download to have a normal blue-grey French TGV with a line long enough to enjoy it ?

I would say, that the problem is you have dived in at the deep end without trying to understand how the application works.

Try looking in these forums for posts about the problems you are having, they have all been covered at one point or another.
Also, try giving a bit more detail about your problem, it will help others to help you.
Most of all, Trainz requires patience & a little effort to enable it to give you many hours of pleasure.

Well, basically, when I try downloading content it is very slow, second there are always missing dependencies and then I'm not even sure that the things I'm downloading are compatible with my version TC1&2.

I don't see any TGV here http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS.php for TC1&2. Why do I see some of them in my "Content Manager Plus" which are for other versions ? Besides, at times, when I launch this "Manager", an "updating database" window pops and stays here. I'm sure it would stay as long as my computer can run. The only thing to do is kill the process.

Am I condemned not to play and enjoy the game (I paid for) ?

If you want faster download speed you'll have to buy a first class ticket (FCT) to have access to the firstclass.auran.com server.

Any time CMP seems to hang you can clear it by hitting the ESC key.

I will try to help where I can, but I run TRS2004 which works differently to TC1 & 2, so some of your problems I won't have experienced.

Updating the database can take a long while. however once it does this it generally doesn't take as long once it has done its "long update".

Is the problem here not that you don't get all the default content with TC1+2? Anything made using built in content from 2004 or 2006 won't work as it's not bundled with classic, and not on the DLS? I think you need to look for routes spesificly for trainz classic...

Or you can buy the collection which is UTC / 2004 and 2006 which is what I did, and was a little over £20 from the shop here on the site... I'm running 2006 and most of the stuff I download now works fine...
