BNSF Clovis Sub

i think something is just wrong with that section.

Yup.

I found the problem the other day and updated my website. I was certain I posted the fix here too, but can't find it so maybe I am just getting too old for this. Anyway, here's the fix...

The signal 'Disused09' causes issues for some trains entering and/or leaving the main line at the western end of Pedernal Yard. This signal should be pure eye-candy, but it's unintentional attachment to the main line effects train movements and it needs to be fixed. Locate the signal using the Surveyor Menu 'Find Object' option. After locating the signal the quick fix is to simply delete the signal from the route. The not-quite-so-quick fix is to delete the signal, then replace it attached to the length of invisible track which runs below the station building. The invisible track runs between the two white spline vertexes just off the platform ends. Do not move the signal after placement - it 'jumps' to the main line very easily. If the placement is slightly off, delete and replace till the location is satisfactory. It is worth double-checking that the signal is correctly placed by gently 'jiggling' one end of the invisible track. If the signal doesn't move, it is still attached to the main line. Don't forget to rename the new signal 'Disused09'.

You just can't get good testers any more....

Thanks Dermmy for that link, they are great!;)
EDIT: they do require one dependency from the DLS called 'Tankcontainers' by cernunos (kuid:96314:8000:2) When attempting to download, it says that it is obsoleted by a later version. That I can't find.

Still nothing. It will appear in CMP, with the icon saying it is still on DLS, but with no file size next to it.

I just downloaded these successfully using the ftp link from the download page and all seems well. If you are still having trouble drop me an email via my profile....

I have been playing with 09 for a week or so and honestly not yet certain if it is worth the mucking around but ya gotta love the draw distance. When it does run though it is as smooth as silk, even with this lot...

I'm missing many landscape textures on this map and I have tried to find them but I really don't know what they are. Any ideas Dermmy?

Just drag the route into the download panel, click 'Start' and CMP/CM2 should locate and download everything needed from the DLS.

If that doesn't work - and sometimes mine doesn't either - locate the route in CM, right click and select 'View Dependencies' then click the 'View in Main List' button. Now scroll down and drag everything with a 'DS' icon into the downloads window. Click 'Start'.

If neither of those work, report back.....

Andy :)

Just being curious, with 10 on the horizon why not wait a little more? I sure wish I had held back on 09 now..

Cheerio,
Nicholas.

I had hoped after all this time and a couple of service packs 09 would be somewhat better than it is. As for 10 - if it is more than 09 with animated trees (good grief!) I'm missing something....

Hi Dermmy,

Why are you stopped up 'Cane Creek' Sub project? You very well, it seemed realistic. Please stop the BNSF Clovis Sub 3 project! You must continue up 'Cane Creek', the mountain looks much more interesting than the boundless desert Clovis Sub...:(

Am sorry for my english...

Hi Martynas - Cane Creek may not be totally dead. The posed screenies looked great - some of the best texture work I have done, but that was only in a few selected areas. Trying to get thousands of acres of near-vertical texture looking good was a huge problem, but I kinda miss it, so maybe....

Clovis sub runs "alright" on TS09 for me.

Intel Q6600 2.4Ghz
x2 eVGA 9800GT's SLI
3gigs corsair xms2
windows pro media center 05
latest drivers etc etc

I tend to run out of memory on this layout which really bugs me, I think TS09 is just a terrible build anyways. I get an error message saying something about reference memory...

i have never had it run out of memory on this route, or from using it. i typically run 7 trains at a time on it. 32 bit kinda dated win 7 machine with 3 gb ram.

You would have to get either 4 or 6 GB of memory (1 GB or 3 GB more) and either get XP 64 bit (horribly optimized drivers) or Vista 64 bit (most drivers are perfectly stabe) or better yet, Windows 7 64 bit, with mostly stable drivers, but not fully guaranteed yet. I have both Vista Home Premium 32 and 64 bit OS's installed and I sometimes run out of memory when running Clovis Sub 2.0 in Trainz '06 on 32 bit and the program crashes, but never on Vista 64 bit.

My suggestions.
Kyle
