BNSF Clovis Sub

Well can someone shed some light on my problem?

Nope. Could be anything Evan. I crash out of 09 loading a one-train session for screenshots about 50% of the time with the memory thing. It's an oldish rig, but 4 gig and XP. Same box runs eight or ten trains in 06 no worries. 09 should be better. All of above in Compatibility mode. I can't even load the route in Native, takes me to a corner of an untextured board with no mouse or keyboard control of the cursor. But I know there are plenty ppl running it more-or-less successfully in Native. A re-install has been suggested, but the damned thing won't let me uninstall and the delete-and-registry-clean method ain't my thing. Presumably SP3 will sort it out. In the meantime: Go figure...

Andy ;)

It's a completely new partitioned hard drive that I installed like 4 days ago, everything is 100% clean. I have a feeling its just TS09..

i have never had it run out of memory on this route, or from using it. i typically run 7 trains at a time on it. 32 bit kinda dated win 7 machine with 3 gb ram.
I run 2006 SP1 with XP SP3 32 bit, N/Vid 9600 GSO, 3.16ghz dual core, 6gb ram in dual layer mode. I average 13 consists all of which are Dermmys so they're not short. FPS isn't brilliant 13-20 on average.
looking at your specs which are above mine by a fair bit I'd tend to lay the blame on 2009.
How much ram does your o/s need for itself. XP uses 512mb, Vista 2gb. Then you need some for trainz. 1-2gb minimum i'd say. That could be where your machine is blocking up.

I can report that Clovis is running in TS2009 (comp. mode) without a hitch. Smooth as silk and fully functional sessions.
(No waiting for track clearance, no overshooting of signals).
I love it. Dermmy, it's a masterpiece!

It doesn't do so well in TC3 I'm afraid, but it works with a little help.

I'm running Windows Vista HP 64 bit on Intel Core2 Duo,
E8500 3.16GHz MB w/4GB RAM. Plus GeForce 9800GTX+ w/1GB RAM.

I too have no problems with BNSF Clovis Sub 2.0 on TS2009. I'm patched with the latest version and have an Intel 2.4 GHz Duo Core CPU, 4 GB DDR2 RAM, NVidia 8800 GTX GPU @~700 MHz and 512 MB RAM, running Vista 64-bit SP2. It runs just great as do most of the routes I run.

I hope all these specifications can help people out with their routes.

I'm looking forward to Clovis 3.0 and your Cane Creek route if you ever get around to finishing it. No pressure there! Seriously I'm good with it if you decide not to finish it.

:)

The thing that bugs me is that I know my pc isn't exactly the most up to date, but it isn't entirely out dated either. I am guessing TS09 isn't programmed for quad cores, then again I could set the affinities for the cores that it does run on to be a bit higher.

From what I've read 2009 will use both cores of a dual core processor. so you should be ok there. Find out if you can how much RAM your system uses.
Another thought. If possible move all your trainz content onto the 1 drive. Then Defrag the lot. I partioned my drive and trainz is on only 1.

Not the best screenie I ever took, but I think we have two pages without a shot - so call it back-lit and gloomy if you must, but it's all that is to hand....

Ooh - 12 month bump, that will thrill some folks!

To make the bump worth while, Clovis is up for a total re-make to 2010 standards (MAYBE even Native Mode) after I finish EK3. When will it be available? Try another 12 month bump...

Andy ;)

Another 12 month bump eh? :hehe:

Looks and runs amazing Dermmy, fantastic job and can not wait for the upgrade to TS2010. :D

Keeping track of train locations can be difficult on a large route, so I made a user guide for Clovis v2...copy this...

I was at a train show recently. Fellow there had the clovis sub running in TS10. He had a quad core with a very fast graphics card. He was jumping all over the route and from train to train. Everything was without any pause at all. Clovis sure made a great demo of TS10. :D I was filled with envy.:(
