Blizzard on CP Rail's Escanaba Sub

<Image Removed>

I'll post the rest of the new screenshots soon. I'll also give more details as to what I have done on the Escanaba Sub layout.

Did you colour in the headlights on the loco in Paint or something in that shot? :o

I colored it in using paint, airbrush. It saves time when taking screenshots to use surveyor, set up a scene, and type (Alt+U) . That way I can take shots of different trains and not have to follow the same train.

If you downloaded this layout in the past, you would have noticed that many areas lacked scenery. I've filled in some areas as well as added a lot more scenes along the line. In Ontario the train yard is still there but has been downsized and re-done. My yard leads are straited out now. On the Michigan side of Sault Ste Marie I redid the yard that supports the large power plant. At Dafter the interchange has been redone as well as more trees and houses along the line. Escanaba has been the biggest overhaul so far, with a lot more scenery a slightly larger yard, and a new terminal shortline that serves downtown customers. Heres some screenshots, more to come.

I understand many of my routes have had missing assets and therefore I'm going to try to help you find the missing assets. In this updated version 99.99% of my scenery objects are from the DLS. As well as most of the content in the scenarios. As before, 'MRL-Signs' from TPR will be required.

Wow.....This is looking pretty good....Perfect time to start working on this as winter will be here before you know it.....(for us that is anyways) :hehe:

Keep up the good work and keep us posted with screen shots :Y:

(CP running an Ethanol train to Superior, WI)
Last shots for a while, still some more work to be done. This route is the last "What-if" route I made and if anyone is unfamiliar with that term, its a route that is freelanced but roughly based off the prototype and mapped out using real geography. The towns that are there in real life are there in the map. The CP Escanaba Sub is a line located in Michigan's upper peninsula. There is such a line in real life however it dose not see as much train traffic. This fictional version is a far-fetch idea that Soo Line and its predecessor Canadian Pacific, upgraded the railroad for heavy traffic. It would become CP Rails gateway into the United States, and a detour route for their main line in Canada.
With a fictional route, I sometimes get writers block. I run out of ideas, and progress slows. Heres the last of my screenshots for now. Some of the following scenes have now been changed. The Soo Locks have been widened and the Ontario side has been changed a lot. Some new things include Canadian specific signs, such as the Crossbucks, Highway signs and Traffic Signals. little detail malfunctions have also been addressed.

I understand there were missing assets in previous sessions and the last routes released. Its difficult to find KUIDs from 3rd Party locations, also with some older creator websites have since changed or are gone for good along with their assets. Most of the assets should be common to trainz users but I'll being posting a list of things to get from TrainzProRoutes and USLW.

That's a huge improvement, only thing I see that could help is simply more tall weeds and dead grass along the side of the right-of-way. More "green-ish" pine trees could add more contrast, too. :)

Yeah, that was my last project, I did a lot of dry grass, but yeah I agree with you on the pine trees, I've added more pines. Escanaba Sub should have a summer version too, it should be pretty easy to do I think.
I built the Saginaw Sub too, I'll have to send u some screenshots soon, its a lot longer, and has every grade crossing from Toledo-Plymouth, just lacks scenery at the moment. The Detroit District I'm redoing Detroit so its kinda been put aside for the moment.

Final Screen shots and an update I'll be uploading the test version later today, along with some custom content made for the route. Please check it out and soon I'll have the final product uploaded.

CP Intermodal trains are more common now with the 1990s upgrade of the Michigan Division.
Near Gladstone, MI this small lake still has ice on it, as the temps begin to warm up.

Thomson, MI known as West Manistque by the railroad, still retains a small branch line that serves an ethanol plant. The railroad tracks seem to squeeze their way through what orginally was the Soo Line main to Sault Ste Marie.

In Sault Ste Marie, MI I need to add a little detail and although its not prototypical, I got this idea from the Maumee River in Toledo, where giant elevators are place along the water's edge. The yard in Soo Michigan will support the power plant and now the bulk terminals along the water.
The Welcome to Michigan sign is also custom content available on the DLS soon.

Just posted the route guides please check those out aswell. They will help you learn where everything is on the railroad.

Very cool. Are you going to do sessions so we can learn the operations aside from the timetables such as operating the OCS train, road freights, yard switching/ locals, and operating the connecting railroads/ shortlines?

It will be a story board, so you get the feeling your the engineer, with a little bit of narrative in each session to set the mood. If you have any ideas PM me or something.

This is such a fun route to run.....Hopefully you will do a summer route or something of this area up north....Would be very cool....:Y: Thanx for making such a great route....
