'Binary Conversion Failed for asset...' - Why?

Hi,

One of the most common faults I get with content on Trainz is an error saying '(x) Binary conversion failed for asset KUIDxxxxx:xxxx'

I was just wondering why/how this happens? It seems a bit bizarre to me, but it's really common and very frustrating!

If that's during committing, it's usually caused by missing image files.

I find that I get the 'Binary conversion failed' message when I have compressed an image file on saving as 'GIMP' does this by default. Make sure that when you save any image files if you alter them that they are not compressed when saved.

It happens both when I download through Mac's CMP, or whether I download the CDP file from a website and then import it (neither of which require the user to commit assets- it does it itself).

Thanks BuilderBob for that link. I get more frustrated if I don't have a clue why something's happening- at least with these definitions I can understand it
