Bethlehem Steel Shortline Railroad C&BL Large Pics

Working Inside.....

At least in steel mills trains work inside.....In fact, the C&BL had tracks running all through the mills.

Modeling inside is difficult due to lack of machinery assets.....

Here is another aero shot of the Franklin Plant....

More to Come......:hehe:

C&BL finally has its own switcher in Trainz.....

Thanks to thallium and Campbell5149 the C&BL finally has its own SW7 in Trainz.

thallium reskined this first unit 121 seen here at the C&BL shops:

Shortly after delivery 121 was put to work....

C&BL SW9

I don't why this took so long to post, probably "the usual reasons"... I think this one took five upload attempts.

I also reworked the SB SW1500's. On my old video card, it looked like the fresh yellow paint from the photos I had. Now it looks way too bright, like C&NW Zito yellow. So I toned it down greatly.

Now I just need to produce a few more models of C&BL switchers and finish the Cambria & Indiana SW1500 to go with the SW1200.

Hello sethmcs, this thread was started just over a year ago, and it was only 30% done then, can you give us an idea how far you've come with it since last December please ?? In other words, am I likely to be claiming my old age pension before this hits the DLS.......:hehe:

Ready for DLS

You will definately be in old age and collecting your pension when I am finaly finished the PRR Horseshoe Curve route. It is a extremely difficult route. Keep up the good work Sethmcs !

I must apologize as well. I downloaded #121 as soon as it was on the DLS and made a mental note to PM a thank you and got busy and did not get around to it. Can use as many C&BL and C&I switchers as you are willing to make. They are all greatly appreciated and I still love my fleet of South Buffalo switchers as well.:)

Well actually I decided to rebuild the entire route using Fishlipps Horseshoe Curve DEM using better assets and to follow the actual track plans more closely to give a more prototypical experience. Here are some progress shots.

In addition to a fully functional C&BL will be 30 miles of PRR mainline between Johnstown and Altoona PA 10 miles of which are complete. The idea lends itself to a large number of possibilities. Long hauls of coal, iron ore, limestone to Johnstown and finished steel to Altoona or have AI haul in the materials and operate the switching operationof the C&BL to make steel.

Other progress shots at my Penn Central thread here:http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=32069

They are actually two routes in one PRR mainline from Johnstown to Altoona PA and the C&BL in Johnstown.:hehe:

Actually, although not complete C&BL verison 1 is not a bad route. I had one continuious driver session going for over 24 hours and didn't complete all the tasks that I wanted to. I guess I would release it if anyone was interested in it as is. I want to concentrate on Penn Central/C&BL v2.

I can agree that this is an extremely challenging route but working on it a few hours a day over a long period of time does lead to satisfactory results.

Just wanted to say I read all 8 pages :). Really enjoyed it and I like how you explained it all, and look foward for when you post more.

Thanks
Frank

Thank you. I really wish I had the time to finish the route. Alas I am currently far too busy. The worse the economy gets the busier my business gets. Hope to start seriously modeling something in November.

I would be interested in this route, if you are still planning to release it.

Someday I would like to complete something and release it.

Good to see that this is still in the works. I am interested in running the C&BL someday.

Someday I will re-do the SW1500's to match the new color standards of the SW7/9/1200's. I may have already done it but I don't think I've checked it.

Great Stuff. We once had a steelworks here in Newcatle Australia, last wednesday, 30th September was the 10th anniversary of its closure. I must ask where did you get that Blast Furnace?
