Bethlehem Steel Shortline Railroad C&BL Large Pics

superb jop!!

Thanks Ish6

This route one stage for route NS reading line 2.0 ? Bethlem steel today, info and photos http://home.comcast.net/~steelmanjules/index.html

Actually this route is in the middle of the NS Pittsburgh Line that runs from Pittsburgh to Johnstown to Altoona PA. The Johnstown Plant made not only steel but freight cars as well. The Bethogon Hoppers in Trainz were made at the Johnstown Plant.

However, I am a fan of Bethlehem Steel no matter what city the plant is located in thanks for the link. I am modeling the Conemaugh & Blacklick RR in Johnstown, PA. The Bethlehem Shortline in Bethlehem PA is called the Philadelphia Bethlehem & New England RR. Here is a cool link for PB&NE RR http://www.trainweb.org/pbne/

so you ARE working on the pennsylvania. huh. misunderstood. thought you were modeling buffalo. :(

Yes but I would love to model the Buffalo South RR and Bethlehem PA too someday.:) Campbell would you like to take a crack at reskining some switchers in C&BL skins? The bicenntenials would be really cool too.

Well May 2008 is here and I am still busy...darn!

Well May 2008 is here and I am still too busy to start serious work on this route. Hope to dust it off and start building again within a couple of weeks. Before I do I have decided to upgrade my computer with a 7950GT card and more memory. I'll probably post some before and after upgrade shots using FRAPS. Just want you to know this route is not dead.

Finally got some time for the C&BL

Here is a Shot of the C&BL yard in front of the shop.

I was going to enter this in the screen shot of the week contest but the competition is too brutal.:hehe:

More to Come......:p

I keep checking this thread when I have no time to reply -- I've been meaning for quite some time to say that your modelling is gorgeous! You've done a wonderful job at capturing a steel town feel (and the surrounding countryside too!)

Thank you Maddy

See how I put your animated torpedo and slag car to good use.:hehe: If you ever get a chance could you possibly make a hot iron ingot product? The texture on the slag would work. The shape is an upright rectangle. I wish I could use Gmax myself.:'(

Awesome shots but two questions:

1. How did you get the automobiles to appear on a flatbed? I tried but it didn't work. :'(
2. What commodity do you use for the scrap?

The crushed cars are a product found on the DLS kuid:124017:27007:1 and I have four kinds of scrap:

kuid:81150:60:4
kuid:30671:9720410:1
kuid:75134:88000:1
kuid:86311:1772

I believe all are on the DLS except the last one if not on the DLS should be found at Ibertrainz.com.

Sorry for being so slow. I would like to take a stab at making both the ingot product and the special cars used to transport them. It seems like it would be a really fun project, I just keep getting overwhelmed. :p
