Best way to "blend" or "smooth" in surveyor?

Well, I try to ask myself why an area looks as it does when I use surveyor. In other words, why is that area clear of the same trees that populate the rest of the terrain? Sometimes these areas are cleared for utilities, or framing or ranching or homes. Sometimes an area like this is used for a tree farm...

I think you did a fine job. Remember you can use the copy tool to copy existing groups of trees to a new location.
Click on the Tools panel.
Click on the Relative Height button.
Click to deselect the Paste Height and Paste Textures buttons.
Only the Paste Objects button should be lit of the three.
Click the Select Area button.
With the cursor, left click and drag a box around a bunch of trees.
Click the Paste mode button.
Use the compass to rotate the selected area.
Left click on the map to paste the trees.

That's it.

It is a ponderosa pine forest. He has made a lot of great forset plines, you might find something else that will work.

More than two squares

I wouldn't dare take issue with someone who has mastered surveyor as yourself, but I seem to remember someone else stating they use a four track spline to level terrain, each track having a spline point at each end. I could be wrong.

Greg, I like the texturing and the terrain, I think you've done a fine job!
Yes, I do use four track/lanes as a tool, but I am working on a better tool that will do more than two squares in width. Just can't seem to get more out of the programming no matter what with I set! Anyone have a suggestion on how to get this done?

When you are joining two routes together, it is also a good idea to first add a blank/new board to the main route, just where you are to merge the new one. It saves a lot of hassle with different heights as you have the whole new board to use for gradual adjustments and blending. ;)
