Just wanted too see what you guys thought about this. I'm new to trainz and I have seen some really nice routes here. Witch one's are the best?
Thanks,
Landon

As you know there are many routes on the D/s. All of which are there for you to choose from. Each route has it's own unique qualities. It's up to you to decide what you would like. Many people on the forum will give you some good ideas, alot of them will be their own preferred routes. But like I have said the choice is yours....

Go-on spoil yourself. You'll have many sleepless nights because you won't want to stop Trainzing.

Probably my personal favorite is Northbay County. All narrow gauge, a lot of trees, mines, and the largest narrow gauge route I know of. (Anybody know of any others that are bigger? I want it!)

No one can realy addvise you on which is the best if thats what your after,
because most people like routs from there own country, mainley because that is what there acustomed to, and grown up with.
But as a rule there all prittey good in one way ore another, and as you progres, the more you will aprechiate the smallist offering even if they only take up half a board.

Here's wishing you endles hours of fun.:)

There are lots of great routes out there!!! (some freeware & some payware). Do a search on the DLS for philskene. All of his routes like; Port Ogden & Northern, Austral 5, & Industrail 8a, etc, are great routes, (with some great sessions)...
One of the best routes in my personal opinion is a payware route called Murchison 2. (It's my favourite). Runs in 04, 06 & 2009. I think it's worth every cent of the price....

I've been looking for 2+ years for a better route, but haven't been able to fine one yet. Some nearly as good, but none better...
(Personal taste has a lot to do with it as well). Happy hunting.
Cheers, Mac...

Oh, SD17ACE17, if you're looking for "engine servise shops" than go to www.RRmods.com and find the "EMD Facility" route under "Route of the Eagle". Takes a fairly powerful computer though.

As well, you might like to consider neilsmith749's Toronto Lakeshore West and UMR route. I'm biased as I am Canadian and these routes are set in Canada (the latter is a freelance based route). The former is great if you like to run passenger consists and if you have a good computer it should run well.

I also agree with the recommendation of the clovis sub. I would further recommend surfside trams if you like trams, san francisco by normp sp? if you like cable cars and kauri sp? by dinorus redundicious? sp? if you like an island themed route. Some will also recommend the Darjeeling Himalayas route (I haven't tried it yet: on my list of things to try someday). If I recall properly, CSX Selkirk was cool too as well.

Happy trainzing!

As much as your computer can hold. What happens in theory, is that everytime you download a route, you download any missing objects in it that you don't have. The good news is that many routes use similar items, so sometimes you don't have to download many things. The bad news is that sometimes you have to download a lot of things or the creator of the route used third-party assets (objects not on the DLS). Finding them can be tricky and if there are too many, it can completely wreck the route. Most creators who have invested a serious amount of time though will help users find the locations of these items.

Happy trainzing!
