Feedback and suggestion for N3V team for Trainz

Hi everyone!

My name is TrainzLagutin1995, aka Arthur, and you might recognize me from my DLC routes released under the [TL] prefix.

Today, I would like to personally address the N3V Games team to discuss several critical issues in Trainz that, in my opinion, urgently need to be fixed. I truly hope the developers see this message.

1. Sound Engine
Please restore 1:1 audio playback to the quality we had in Trainz 2019. I am aware that since TRS22, the engine has transitioned to *Xaudio_2_9.dll*. However, the sounds in TRS22 now feel "distorted" or "gritty." They no longer sound identical to the original source files, which ruins many delicate ASMR-like sounds and significantly undermines the gaming experience. Please prioritize fixing the audio engine in the next update; it is a critical issue for immersion.

2. Multiplayer
Regarding the restrictions on assets in Multiplayer Surveyor that don't support streaming or meet specific requirements: perhaps you could introduce a "Legacy Multiplayer" rule and link it to your cloud servers? Even with payware subscription, it's ok. Alternatively, please focus on improving the existing legacy system, as it is currently extremely unstable.

3. Optimization and PlantFactory
Some PlantFactory assets are causing massive FPS drops due to excessive alpha testing and overdraw. It has reached a point where even a single tree can "tank" the performance of a high-end card like the RTX 5080 I am currently using. Please look into how these assets are handled.

I would love to hear a response from the development team and am interested to see what other users think about these points.

I agree with you on the sound quality and this is something that N3V needs to address to work with the current sound engine. The reason for the switch to Xaudio was due to a bug with the Open/AL sound engine. The Open/AL spec was incorrect and caused Trainz to crash when moving at roughly 100 km/h.

I don't have anything to say about multiplayer since I have never used it.

The PlantFactory assets as well as in-game support for this technology is still WIP. The current beta improves performance with these assets substantially, however it's still not as good as it should be.
