Belgium (question)

Hi,

As Promised some screenshots of the Thuin Preserved Tram line. Locations: 1) Lobbes Bonniers. 2) Lobbes Ecoles. 3) Lobbes 4 bras. 4) Pont-du-Nord. 5) Thuin Cimetiere [Cemetary]. 6) Musee ASVi [Thuin Tram Museum].
I would like to thank those of you who supplied invaluable information about the line. I will post some other screenshots of Anderlues and part of line 89 in due course.
Please feel free to comment.
.

Hello Mark,

Your screenies are absolutely beautiful. Did you find all assets on the DLS - or did you make some items in a quickflash?

I also searched for some trams which you would like to have. Not obvious. I think you got your models from Trainzdepot. Correct?

What do you think of this Hungarian tram? ( http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/showthread.php?297231-Co-Driver-amp-Tiszi-screen-topic/page10 scroll to bottom of the page ). Unfortunately the tram is for MSTS.

Up to now, I couldn't find such a Hungarian tram. I will keep on searching.

It's also a pity, that only a few of my countrymen are still active within the Trainzcommunity. Perhaps one day, someone will build a tram like the one on the asvi website ( http://www.asvi.be/index/index.htm - third tram from the left )

Best regards

Hi Kurt,

The nearest tram I could find to the one on the asvi web site you mention is illustrated below, trouble is, is that it comes as a trailer, which would mean some work in content manager to add engine, panto ect: Most of my trams as stated in an earlier post comes from a German website but you have to register to get them. All other items are on DLS.

What happens when you try to download the Hungarian Tram?

Mark

Hello Mark,

Downloading of the Hungarian tram ( SZVV_villamosok ) is no problem, but the tram is made for Microsoft train simulator ( MSTS ). This tram cannot be used in Trainz.

Hi,

Anderlues Line 89 (part). I find this part of the line a bit odd in so far as the track runs on the left side of the road (single track) passing the depot (see thread above) then it turns right and runs on the right hand side of the road, after about 1km it turns into the centre of the street, with a passing loop for a stop. Then back to the centre of the street to it's destination, but then terminates amongst some trees. After which the line has been abandoned. It must be bit dodgy for car drivers as the track is not reserved and the street is not that wide. Mind you when the line was laid it only had to dodge horses. Health and Safety has not caught up yet.

Photo shows the actual trams on the route. My effort below that.

The tram outside Aldi is actually on track that used too exist, but has been dug up (Track terminates about where the tram is). which I reinstated for layout purposes so I could run though to Thuin from the depot.
I have found this an interesting exercise.

Hello Mark,

The situation is not so dodgy for car drivers familiar with the situation. It happens a lot that trams are leaving the left side, crossing part of the road and continue their road in the middle or even crossing again and continue on the right side.

The picture shows the situation in 2009. It's possible that warning signals, stoplights have been placed to have a better control of the situation and especially to avoid accidents.

On the line Knokke - De Panne, warning signals and traffic lights have been placed, or added to the traffic situation. Nevertheless, the conductor still has to be very attentive and he/she has to use the horn frequently, not only for car drivers, but also for pedestrians crossing the street without hearing the tram approaching. They practically get a heart attack when the conductor uses the horn.

Most of the incidents happen with car drivers not familiar with Trams within daily traffic.

Will you put this project on the DLS?

Best regards

Just thought I would add a view of Thuin cemetery from the river.

No to DLS. problem is, is that you may end up with a lot of items missing unless you have them already down loaded.

Hi,

Just to let you know that I have started to extended the 89 route north from the depot to a Underground station called Fontaine, which has given me the opportunity to operate 3 trams instead of just the one. Hope to have some screenshots in due course.

Yes a drivable boat, if you have a navigable river, use it that what I say.

Hi again,

I would like any comments, criticisms, questions or observations please.

The following are in reverse order: 4) Route 89 Passing the Anderlues depot. 3) Passing loop on reserved track. 2) Outside car dealership. 1) Petria station, exit from Fontaine tunnel at this point.

Hi,

Extended the 89 route (now called M1) to Fontaine station. 1) Approaching station. 2) Fontaine station below ground. 3) Above ground. NB: haven't a clue what the station actually looks like underground.

More of the extension to follow.

Hello Mark,

Just have a look at this youtube movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTluFBH4RJg - It gives you info above and underground. :udrool:

Once you have watched the above movie - others can be clicked ( if more info is necessary ).

Best seasonal Xmas greetings

Do you have the intention going all the way to Charleroi ?

Best seasonal Xmas greetings

Kurt,

Not sure yet. I have reached Moulin but I am not quite happy with my work so far. Keep you posted how I get on.

Hello Mark,

In the above picture - do you have car traffic on the roundabout and if you do, are cars following the roundabout?

Best regards
