This route is long. Okay very long, Vancouver to Whistler across to Pemberton and then down a special route along Harrison Lake back to Vancouver through Port Coquitlam, then refuel and head down through New West/Surrey to Bellingham and then further down to Vancouver Washington. The Northern version stops at Burnaby/NewWest. The first files I sent had very large trees (Ultra hi rez it turns out) and so dling 25 mb per tree suffice to say I made a smaller version that replaced those trees, I hope.
I also had a signal triangle problem that I think I fixed. This route is in beta version. Alot of areas are nothing, some texture and a little terrain but that is the idea of hauling a distance. Testing to see how it flows online. If you get it working add to thread to let me know what or what not??

One other thing the fuel is not real or part of the locomotive but if it goes to zero the screen fades out, refills tanks and takes some money then should fade in for you to continue. The first version fades out and you have to restart game. Fuel in Vancouver and New West Yards.

Quick drive does not work has to be run from sessions mode.

In regards to multiplayer, these trains and systems are available for multiplayer:Blue Comet,the Duchess Class,the Coronation Scot, the PRR T1 (Fleet of Modernism), the Aerotrain, the Murchison 2 pack, the Settle and Carlisle pack, the Treez pack,and the Classic Cabon City pack. So payware is available for this system. Also the FCT is another way for payware to make its way into trainz.

Resolution is very coarse<?>

You have chosen a very beautiful part of Canada to model. I have travelled through most of that area so am quite excited about this route.

However, I just downloaded and installed this route in Ts2012 and tried to add a consist and engines for a quick run. The consist was added ok, but I could not add an engine. Using the MAP view for look see at the route, the route looked out of focus and I could not zoom in/out and find any track anywhere. The definition was too grainy.

Any idea of what might be the cause / fix?
This is a completed route and not a beta verion - correct?

PS: Only 2 kuids were listed as needed and both on the DLS. I got them both before I tried to run this route. Should there be more to be downloaded?

quick drive fuzzy

Not sure if it is the quick drive mode or what but try the regular scenario and I hope that helps. Yes there were only 2 files. It is in beta version and since it is so large this is really a test for TrainZ engine and servers. Having chopped those trees out I hope is a good start in just dling the files. 934 and 935 are the next two for dl that I hope to try. They should be on the dls soon. The one you have I could not even dl. Time to buy a FCT. Thanks for commenting and trying out map. Hope that can help. tapr

Resolution still a problem for me

I have downloaded 935, but cannot see 934 on the DLS. No missing dependencies and I still cannot get a decent resolution or see track to place engines or consists.

I have ent you a Private Message requesting your email address so I can send you a pic of what I am experiencing - hoping it can give you a better idea of what might need fixing.

Other TS12 routes are clear and fully functional for me, so I am looking for some clues to be able to enjoy this route.

only one problem?

I guess everyone but one, oh and me have a problem with this map. I cannot even dl the files. So I half sized the map to create wait for it.... a new improved map? With second upload of 934 and 935 which reduced size significantly they still could not get onto my system. This new route is Lower mainland to Whistler no southern section. This is still a large map not listed as XL but still large. I will keep the current file #s posted on top of first thread. The route name has changed to reflect the different area. This is a new system to me so it takes a little while to figure out. Since this is a new route you won't have to delete the old one to dl it, same with the scenarios they also are different names. You may as well delete it because it does not work. Unless someone out there got it to work, then that person does not have to delete it. I want to have the XL version only but unfortunaly that is not to be for now or ever maybe.

These files are now ready to try as of late 24 01 12. The trees are gone. If this works then I will be reverting to the XL version. If not well, try try again.

Hello, i downloaded the map and session. I have 1 missed depend. - the Red Maple 01 (kuid2:72938:40225:2). I don't find on DLS (black pages). I've found in CMP - it says it's on DLS, but under Asset-Details stand it's Payware. I can't download.

Edit: Please, DON'T use Payware for Multiplayer-Sessions!!!

How do you know if it is payware when in surveryor, thank you. Other then buying and having paid for it. Any way now that I know it is payware I will remove it. Of course it would help if you would also mention the method of knowing what files are payware and which are not. That would help me in the future. Now it might also help to know which file 934 or the one previous which is obsolete. Usually I just go to dls and get trees from there. A little help thanks. Is it possible to not load that tree? No it is not.
I think in my top thread it says that I took the trees out I think. Unfortunatly there are still two that snuk by. Who in there right mind would want 25megabyte trees let alone 10. There is a smaller version I have deleted all the trees that were a problem I hope. The new versions should be ready soon. I will list above. Like I said above it is a large file and obviously has to be reduced. Also this is in beta form still unfinished and alot of items that may or may not be correct but will be updated in future versions. Hard to believe that there was only the one payware item that got by.

I would humbly suggest changing the user name of any payware you buy to preface the name with PW. That way, when you choose items for routes to make and upload, you can see that an item is not desirable.:)
 
Good news:D I got Northern limited version working online last night and after about an hour someone joined. I crashed on my way up to Whistler so that was a bummer the online is a drive alot slower to survive or maybe more realistic. There was only lag on chatting. This is a good sign for XL version to come online sooner then later. If you dled the limited version of Single player then let me know if it works, as I have not dled that yet. The other guy used Josef who is setup in the Terminal and Main Yard ready to head east. After I crashed he was nice enough to let me ride in his caboose. Ahhh wait minute that did'nt sound right. Anywho these consists have interior caboose so I saw the ride out from the back very different, unfortunately we crashed at a very very sharp corner on the map. So all in all it was an excellent first go. The XL version has had atleast 100 changes since a week ago. One the triangle light problem was solved the AI has been flowing perfectly and I have concentrated on the map look. Also add abunch more things probably to dl. So the map has just gotten even bigger.

Bugs and fixes

Hi guys and girls,

BC Railway is made for TS12 using Build 49922
Run Content Manager and select file/extened database repair. This will take a while
Delete all versions of BC Railway and sessions except latest before doing the Content Update.
After that is done run Start and below the title Routes the Content Updates should be a zero, if not zero then select Download All.


BC Railway:102642 - Works
Four sessions for this one. SP, MP MP(BC) and MP(BC LMS).
There is rolling stock on the Mission Coal line. These five tri-level auto carrier cars are in the way and need to be moved for traffic to proceed along that line. There is a consist in Pemberton heading from Lillooet that could be used for that. The cars can be moved to the track to the west or just carried as more stock.
Just after the Skytrain Yard and before the New West yard I put an extended yard for New West the track along the area has not been smoothed and so is very rolly-polly, slow to 30 or so to make that area work.

BC Railway:102633 - Works
This route needs Blue Comet. I was not sure how this worked but it turns out if you do not own Blue Comet the map won't work. So the next version I send will have 3 sessions. SP, MP and MP w/BC.


BC Railway Northern:102618 - Works
Since the first two versions never worked this last one (102018 - 19 and 20) showed that it can have a little more and worked, more inportantly. Since MP Lioins XL is the version that I want on the system then I will not be updating any of the Northern files. Unfortunatly editing two maps is more energy. So changes for the next ul will be many. Alot of things were there for testing and now time for reality testing. You may also need to go a little slower then posted speeds since safety is our number one concern in British Columbia. Of course if this XL version is to taxing then I will start on editing Northern version. Hope you enjoy. MP Lions XL to be here soon.

BC Railway:102612 - Never Worled
I found a bug right after uploading files. The north track heading from whistler (the left track) has a hidden track with no junction and so you crash. To avoid use xover at Whistler or if coming from other direction use that xover.

BC Railway:101935 - Never Worked
This has two trees from the first version that I msissed.

BC Railway:101838 - Never Worked
This has trees that are payware so I removed them. Well they were 25 mb each tree.

Cash tickets and diesel

This is for both BC Railway versions.
I wanted to get fuel(ing) into the game and some of the engines do have that feature of loading and using and even running out of fuel. How novel. So I thought I would incorperate the feature into the game. Then the cash came into play by costing money to use the CN/CP or who ever owns the line charging a 'line user fee'. Then I decided to charge for the fuel. So the cash is really a float for the driver to buy his way along the line. If you run out, well just don't. You can get fuel by just crossing the fuel stations around the map (3 locations) and it will automatically be placed into tanks. At this point it is in beta so the cash and fuel are fairly high. Tickets are for speeding. Do not speed. No tickets. Speed, ticket and cash taken. The limit is 16 mph for BC Railway Northern and 10 mph for BC Railway. Industries have cash taken and given for AI getting there before running out or over supplying that kind of thing. Also cash is given for crossing certain triggers. These variables are all universal. That is all the drivers see the numbers all the trains crossing triggers activate them.


BC Railway Northern Map is setup for 2 mplayers online. BC Railway MP is ready for 7 mplayers. BC Railway MP (BC) is for 11 mplayers. The single player version(Northern) you can send the other driver out to destinations using the drive to command. There are also 20 AI drivers. 9 of them are in their own loop and 2 are skytrain operators so they are also in a 2/loop. The rest are in localized loops. NV to Van/ Van to NVan. Poco to Pemberton and back. The Royal Hudson just leaves town and loops around and a logging consist is coming into town. In this version though there is alot less with no HST or skytrain or American drivers.

Time for work @ BC Rail

Hey guys and gals,
After almost a week and I see a bunch have got the map. Finally, so if you need help getting out of Vancouver yard then read on. A bunch of AI drive around and you try not to get in their way. That is about it. It is a 2 player map so that may help to keep it fast for online. Send a post if you get a problem or have a question, I'll see what I can do.
When you come into the single player map you are in Port Coquitlam yard facing east and the AI driver starts doing his job right away. Open the driver panel and scroll down to the bottom driver. Select him, Tom the other driver above is Josef. If you decide to just drive Josef you still have to get Tom out of the yard because he blocks the entrance. I usually follow David (who is also in this yard with Tom) along the same track until he turns into North Van yard west. Then I head up to Whislter. To take Josef you have to park Tom. To do that you have to beat the Royal Hudson which is using that track into Vancouver, then take the Clark junction to Surrey/NewWest. Pull up behind Josef as you pull him out. That gets him off the track when you come back along that track.The consists are the same cars and both are 1.6 km long. Big and slow but you can decouple and leave some behind or you can be loco (pun intended) and drive both. One goes to Whistler and the other send up to Pemberton.

weekend not a total lose

Hey there onliners,
A total lose would have been if I just sent the MP version. So not so bad for the offliners. I was hoping to get to test the ol version but maybe later. The XL version has so many fixes, changes and enhancements of things that it is almost a completely different town. Before I send it I have to give it a good test run. I had it run flawlessly for over 3 hours one time. This system of uploading takes a little while to get quick results. And as you can see by the DLS that the files all stay there for quite some time making it unclear as to what to dl.

Hi trainz drivers,
Time to send the third version of BC Railway (1,2 did not work), this route goes to Bellingham Washington. The sessions are Lions and MP Lions. Like I mentioned in the above msg there are many changes and corrections to the route/sesssion. The driver list is long. The top 2 and the bottom 6 are MP/SP drivers. The rest are AI. 11 in their own loop and 9 interacting with drivers. File #'s are listed in post 12. Still very large files and like I said above this is still beta. The MP version has no variables (fuel, cash and so on). I may have to remove some of the AI if it is too slow. Still it is 100s of miles around the area and many industries to un/load. Also if you find a problem or something that could work better let me know. Starting locations are Vancouver, Port Moody, Pemberton and Bellingham. Enjoy.

Well I had MP Lions running last night for a couple of hours and then again for half an hour this morning. Then after rebooting MP Lions refuses to work. The assest database updated some info after reboot and low and behold now a light switch that I just installed the other day is obsolete. I'm not sure if the single player version works either. Let me know. I am correcting this problem and sending I hope a revised version. It will take a few days for dls. Sorry about this. After running the game twice online I really thought it was going to be no problem. I did alot of changes and right after sending it found another problem in the left track between Whistler and Pemberton (a missing junction). So I can correct that too. Wow two birds in one. Sorry about that. Hard to not find a nice asset and not use it.

BC Railway last version seems to have no dependency list in the info box. I have sent another version up but it also has no list. I ran the last sp version and it seems to work for me. I found a way to check for built in files and have reduced it by a chunk so this version is a lot smaller. Thank goodness for that. So for now only BC Railway Northern route works. Sorry for delay. The new numbers are listed above.

Ok they beat it with .5 million members. Yahoo for Auran. I sent up another version of BC Railway in the beginning of April. Hope you guys got a chance to use it. It has a alot to dl but fun if you get it running. Make sure to check post #11 and #12 for latest info and of course post #1. There is a disclaimer of sorts at the bottom of post #1. I have been busy with some of my cash and have purchased stuff from various sites (including Auran) to use with TrainZ12. Sending some sessions lately which will only work with those particular files. The lastest session has 2 steam locomotives that will have to be installed and registered before using. There is also the freeware single player Lions session and the MP Lions. With Auran having so much to celebrate they are nearly giving away the kitchen car sink, so if you can get over the payware loathing since this is really half payware. The next session with the BC and LMS loco will also have some of the TreeZ files and an altered Classic Cabon City session2 placed beside the westend. This will definitely be a long dl. The last BC Railway route has been cleaned of all but 3 non built-in files. The multiplayer versions have had all of the variables, sound and logic removed to speed up runtime. I have to send up another completely new route for the next one because of the added blocks for the CCC merge. This also opens up the fact that I was going to put in the RAV later but now I guess is later, If you like a long tunnel run. This new area creates another line down south passing YVR and connecting to the second New West yard. Thanks for the latest dls guys and gals.
