Userdata folder doesn't contain build updates, if you want to avoid patching again you have to backup the whole Trainz folder, saving the patches for future use is probably more realistic.
Trainz doesn't really use the registry much, you can copy the program to another drive or PC even and it will run. May have to set up file associations and shortcuts.
