Auto traffic generator?

Approach_Medium

Trainz Addict
Hi;
I have had a lot of trouble with automobile traffic on my routes in TS2010_sp2
Sometimes carz appear on the roads, but other times there are none.
I have turned on traffic in Surveyor, then saved and run Driver; no carz appear.
Sometimes when I click to turn on carz in Surveyor, they appear, but other times they do not.

I have tried the carz spawners, but they never seen to work for me.
Perhaps I'm not doing something correctly here.

Is there a better method of generating road traffic?

Thanks

FW

Some roads generate traffic and some don't. The little car generator button doesn't do anything (for me anyway). And I don't know why the car generator splines don't work. Hope this helps.

It's always funny...when I get no cars(I don't normally notice until I start to work on a new piece of road) what I normally do after laying a section of road is deliberately add a section that I don't need, just so that I can use the undo button because, when I undo the move, suddenly traffic appears.

This can also make them disappear again though if I should have to undo after a mistake....but again, once I complete the road I'm working on, I again deliberately make one move too many and undo it.
I do sometimes have to press the traffic button too though, just to get the cars started.

I know it sounds strange but, this is just something that works for me and so perhaps you could try it.

Mart.

Yea; it's just another of the "bugs" in TS2010 (and other versions).
What I would like to eventually do, is add invisible track along certain roads where I want traffic, then use vehicles that run as trains on the roads.
I have seen other routes that use this. I think Tume's Avery Drexel is one.
This way, you can use the ATLS system to control the traffic lights, and make sure cars stop at crossings when they are activated.
I think that may be one thing the inverse slave is used for, but not sure.

That's something I will eventually get to; unless I decide to eliminate all automobiles and roads from my world:hehe:
The only reason I want traffic in the first place is to watch the carz line up at the closed crossing gates:)
I've installed one of BNSF50's grade crossing plate traffic controllers, and wired it to the ATLS crossing, and want to see how it works.

Oddly enough, after I posted, I went back to my route, and suddenly there is lots of traffic in Surveyor!
I don't know if it would appear in Driver though. I didn't get that far.

If it weren't for my love for grade xings, I wouldn't have any roads or traffic at all!

Try adding extra spline points on your road. Whenever I add extra points, the traffic becomes heavier, at least in Surveyor.

If you want, you can also try editing the carrate value in the road asset. I don't know what the value is supposed to be, I've seen it as high as 35 and as low as 1.

So that's why I suddenly have so much traffic!
First I had none, then I did some "road work" and I have too much in some spots.

I also found carz doing really strange things.
At a grade crossing, which is immediately after an intersection, the carz don't always stop (some of them do, but others will stop at the lowered gate, then drive around, just like in real life), and other times when one car stops, the others just pile up onto that first car.
I think that happened because the crossing is too close to an intersection. I have to make some changes.

I found that using the BNSF50 Grade Xing Plate Traffic Controller works the best, since I am using the ATLS system for crossings.

Make sure you're not using the Default Region - it has no Carz.

P.S. Don't you hate having a mis-spelled username? ;)
