Australian screenshots

People wanting historical inspiration for the perishable [dairy etc] or timber traffic in just about all of Australia can download industry PDFs from the following URL for the Esk district on the Brisbane Valley line [BVL]. That Esk data is pretty much the same for all of Australia as the agricultural, dairy and timber industries were similar around the Great Dividing range on the east coast as well as similar areas in Tasmania, South Australia and the south west of Western Australia. That also includes the Victorian narrow gauge Puffing Billy lines.

That BVL council based at Esk is the
Somerset Regional Council. Find the URL for your industry of choice at
http://www.somerset.qld.gov.au/local-history

Search the industry PDF for the historical era of your choice and plan your rail adventures....

A good example is the Nestle condensed milk data in the dairy PDF. What happened around Esk and Toogoolawah due to international inventions such as refrigeration, canning, farm and harvesting machinery along with companies such as Nestle and Anglo Swiss Condensed Milk, also happened in similar industries around the rest of the country in that era.

Refrigerated and louvre sided rail wagons were introduced or improved around the country in much the same time eras, regardless of track gauge, railway ownership or the particular farm produce they carried. If you see someone else's screen shot of a louvre van in one part of the country in your time era, then a similar version appropriate for your region and track gauge maybe would also be correct. So grab inspiration from those screen shots!

Nice screens all.

Mulie, you really know how capture that atmosphere of a run-down, left-for-dead rail location.

Beautiful stuff!

Matt.

As to VicTrainz, unfortunately there is an issue with the site, which will require Peter (Les_421) to fix. We've reported it to him, however he may not have received this yet.
