Hi guys,
kind of a long time lurker, first time poster on this thread, and on these forums as well. Here's my first real attempt at doing textures etc, the end of the line before a long since abandoned branch to an old abandoned mine, with some abandoned bogeys and an abandoned boxcar just visible down the track. Any suggestions/tips would be welcomed, cheers.
**gets out scissors* excellent first start, just an observation, and I'm not perfect..not even close...but when doing 'texturing' I like to use the smallest radius for scale and 'brush' for upclose and detailed work, to get a nice 'tight' grouping for the texture, becoming progressively 'bigger' the further away from the track I go. Nice touch with the rail there, I'd run 'slight rust' rail too that, then 'break' the spline point before adding the rest of the track, so that stop block acts as a 'signal' and the trainz will stop there, or if you have one further down, etc, they'll want to 'go past it' and ruin the effect...you've inspired me too 'have a go' and see what I come up with, which I'll do later and try to 'demonstrate' what I mean - as for the bogeys and such, I'd put them 'lineside' (beside the track) give it a few more weeds and such, and all that, make it really look abandoned and forgotten!
