DEM based or freehand?

If DEM, i have a Dubbo-Nyngan map that is going nowhere fast; if you want to extend the route a little.

Nice pic.

Steve, beaut shot, ruined only slightly by all that blank grid in the background.

Matt.

@c38nsw i know 3801 did not have the red flower on the nosecone it didn't go sowell when i tried to paint over it leaving an Ugly grey square.
@Steve I used the eyedropper in photoshop to get the grey and black from a color photo of 3801 in it's grey livery so it's about real as it can get;).
You can both do all of the painting yourself(if pete lets you) if you like:).
I might do again some time later. Now to do the candy C38's:hehe:

What program are you using?

Thanks Matt. Yeah DEM based trying to match it to the prototype.
Planning on doing a trip down to Nevertire on the weekend to take more photos.

Need some help with the measurements of the track from the silo to the main yard.

Thanks for the feedback. Yep, gotta fill the blank area up with a few more things first. Just having some problems locating some photos of the area at this stage.

If you have any maps or info on the land and measurements that would be awesome.

Operating speed was 70mph (113km/h) but I have heard that some drivers have recorded speeds between 120-130km/h.

Amazing what you can get them to do when you try. From what I have read/heard/experienced, lots of different things will exceed the specs if you give it a go. It just depends on whether they break or not and whether you will get the sack.:o  :'( :hehe:
Regards
Glen

Might be before your time, but taking certain liberties with the control stand (I think it was) of certain classes of diesel electric locomotives (I think the 2100 class) and really getting them to get up and leap from a standing start...not that I'd know about them, but heard a few stories from certain people, about little 'shortcuts' they may have employed *chuckles*

A Sunlander doing a trial run on Patchy's Kingaroy line.

Had a lovely holiday at Patchy in Cairns.

Cheers,

Bill.

Quite an ironic name for a suburb in Brisbane at the moment...

A unit makes the stop at Alderley

Thought I recognised my old suburb, nicely done. Brings back memories. :)

@Willem2, I was just in Cairns; loved every moment of it. I maybe heading up there in a few months, I am sure to call up patchy and see whats he is doing. I took the Sunlander back, thank goodness. I was involved in that gastly Mackay Tilt Train Crossing Accident. I am certainly having the Sunlander as my future prefference for travelling north until 2014 when she is replaced. :D

@ Colhad, thats my 2 of my favourite stations of the QR Network, and I regularly take the train from Alderley. Its unchanged and still original unlike the many stations on the network that have been upgraded.

We will be doing a version back in the steam era but for now cricketstar and myself are working away on the QR City Train Project, and I am looking forward to doing all the station fittings along the entire project.. I am going to be having ALOT of fun :p

P.S Its great to have the fourms back, I have a backlodge of screenshots I want to showcase, NSW, SAR-VR & QGR. For a certainly someone I have included 3801 :hehe:

Regards
Michael Gitsham

One day bill, I'll have to borrow your notes, so I can build a decent 'consist' of the Sunlander set - great screenshot mate, although why they sent the Sunlander there...well - I think the driver is lost, don't you? :)
