Sure. When I get back to Newcastle where the route is, I'll just upload it all.

Don't care what folk do with it anymore.

The textures were done in Transdem using height relief; Ie, the lower the mountain the darker the texture. They were only temporary to be replaced later, but easy to replace them with decent ones. The stations are all marked at the correct height.

It's of a modern track plan. I think the Zig Zag track is there, although nothing at all as good as the ZZR that I was making some time ago.

I'll make a deal though:

If anyone does make a reasonable attempt at finishing this, I'll finally get around to quickly finishing my high quality DD-17.

But, as I mentioned, the way the textures are done really do work well regards to the height of the mountains. It's really only close to the track that needs more sophisticated texture work. From memory, it's about five baseboards from the track either side, so many mountains to be seen.

Excellent Boobless Ed. I have been waiting for a route like this for ages, and ages. So far there have been no proper CityRail maps whatsoever.

In the meantime, I had started building my own Blue Mountains line Route and I had built from around Kingswood (Not sure why I chose to start from there instead of Penrith) and had only progressed to about up to Warimoo. However I have done signalling, textures, junctions and speed limits all according to real life counterparts.

However after college started again, I knew I would be very busy and indeed I am now... So for the moment I have abandoned my project and was thinking of finishing it 5 months later after some exams.

But now that you are about to release this excellent piece of work, I will probably not bother with finishing my own and instead dedicate to finishing yours off and making it as realistic as I can possibly make it.

So I am looking foward to you uploading it soon mate, I am sure you have done a great job of it. If I ever get around to finishing building and adding touches to your route, I can release it on request.

Actually it is Jointed Rails' SD50 in a fictinal Black Widow livery, I must say it's a pretty detailed loco

Ah, JointedRails site doesn't work for me properly and most of the preview pics when getting there payware shows red x, I do know RRMods have some SD50 and GP50's in Black Widow.

And because I can, here is a random pic of an up Healsville

Also I think there's something wrong with the mass in trainz, that small goods was 140 tons.
I think it should be calculated as tare mass and not total mass, she climbed up the hill at 4kph.

Bosch, having seen screenshots of the route in progress, I can safely say that it is a very high quality basis for a route and with a bit of time and effort, it could turn into one of those "classic" routes that people always show screenshots from.

Excellent Raichase, I am looking foward to it. Like I said, when I do get it I will give it some proper treatment. I used to live on the Blue Mountains Line (Leura), I have been up and down that route millions of times.

I think the Trainz community does deserve at least one proper CityRail route at last. But like I said in my earlier post, I will only be able to work to my full potential in about 4-5 months after exams.

By the way Raichase, had you guessed that I was VSetFan on RP? :D

Lovers of Queensland Rail National locomotives....

Hi good people, just to let anyone interested in some new additions to the Queensland Rail National fleet know, from this evening onwards the QRN CLP 11 and QRN CLP 13 will be available from the DLS:

I found something the QRN CLF/CLPs have not sure about the rest, But when the loco horn is activated for a level crossing the ditch lights flash the LDPs do the same thing. Sorry its bit late but only found out the CLF/CLPs did it.

Good that I did not know beforehand, it would have been a bugger of script writing to implement this :hehe:.

Another thing I forgot is, the QRN CLP 11 and QRN CLP 13 are in their unique "Eagle" coat of paint scheme which also needed a new approach in applying its side on texture, with all the nooks and cranies to do (part body, part doors, part windows etc.), which the CLP Class has.

These 2 locomotives are for TS09 and for TS10 and are very highly detailed with normal mapping and with 4 aggressive Levels of Detail (LODs), as are their animated bogies too and these current locomotives are somewhat uniquely textured (its 2 sides). Once examining these at very closeup, I am sure you can pick the way I applied this "unique" texture, which one will not find on its texture maps.

First correct answer here will get a free ride on the QRL 11 shown above :p.

At least it saved me a lot of extra time to apply the textures on their sides.

Cheers

I don't know/remember if anyone is doing the 160/260 Suburban units but this would also be something to consider for these units as they do the same thing whenever the country or city klaxons are sounded.

Most locomotives running around today have been modified in this way as it's an added safety feature for level crossings. All of the the ARG fleet had this fitted. Quite often though it plays up and either one or both ditch lights remain on instead of flashing, so while it's an interesting feature on a model I suppose it's not really that noticeable if it's too hard to script. It would be nice though :)
