Australian screenshots

Zac,

Wow, that is very nice, keep it up. If your looking on laying some ballast under the track there is a texture under 'S301' that was released to go with the track.

Looking forward to your next shots:D

Yet more pointless time wasting exercises, experimenting with different ideas....

The Sunlander cars look great, and Mulie the screenies are awesome yet again. I think the Sunlander/Spirit of the Outback are both 18 cars in length, and you need a motorail carrier or 2 on the end.

Totally off-topic in a way but due to the comments/interest here I thought I would post about this. I saw on the news some images of the Queensland Floods by NearMap so I just checked to see if they were on their site .. and they are.

It's rather interesting to look at, they have satellite (I presume) images of the floods in Brisbane and Ipswich on Jan 13, and there is are previous views from last year as well. These are rather High Definition images and in some cases you can see where the actual clean up has started by the piles of rubbish on the street.

There is a link in the top right hand corner to Brisbane and Ipswich or you can just follow the river.

Hope others find it interesting as well and again, all the best to those in the flood areas in Queensland and now Victoria. Stay safe.

Craig

P.S. This is a copy of my post in another thread :)

Hello
JamZac if that is the warrnambool line i have a few pics from Moriac,Colac, and the station where the Forrest brach junctioned (sorry forgot name of station name):(

you may be right Bill, every once in a while I get the urge to model some place overlooked like tassie, south oz.
I ended up using the original bogie as I had a normals problem with the one you sent, in 3 of the 4 drivers, easy fixed, but it ended up with a texture problem which could'nt/ would'nt be fixed, differing shades, anyway I ran it from one end of "weddin" to the other at differing speeds and nothing much showed up.

interesting stuff on the mountain class Stan, I have actually just purchased the 53/55 class book awaiting delivery

cheers

Its quite a good read ( as are all Preston's books) - with plenty of information, anecdotes and photo's

the only thing I was hoping for was a good drawing of the 4250 gallon Wampu tender ( tho there are plenty of good photo's and line diagrams)

The Down 11:11 Sth Brisbane Kingston

Hello Everyone.

Here is a picture of my completed D17, but sadly all the geremilins are making it hard to get it into trainz. I used most parts from Greg Cash's C17 808 & the side-lamps from Auran PB15. so Damn those Gemlins; the flyswatter it not working to bring out the heavy artillery...the blow-dart :hehe: Here is the main model+shadow;

Two shots from me...
mitch456yui201101180000.jpg

18th January, 1981. An unidentified 44 in Reverse livery leads a newly painted 48 in Candy livery on a State Rail Authority freight. The train has just clattered across Willow Creek Bridge, and is on it's way to Mitchvale (creative name, huh?:p) where it will terminate.

One I took ages ago, but I don't think I ever posted...

My first day working for V/Line as an engineer (I'm the bloke with the lunchbox). Our assignment was to take this loaded grain from Georgetown to Lily's Mill, and discharge the grain. The yard was just about empty at this hour, since most of the freight was moved late last night, and early that morning. We were the only train from Georgetown until about 10AM, when a stopping freight train would leave and terminate at Richmond.

Thanks,
Mitch

Wow!

There have been some absolutely stunning shots from all contributors the last few days; both from the up-and-comers, and the very well-established.

I should pot a few myself, however i just lost all my content going from 09 SP3 to SP4, and back, so until i can get a bit of content back in-game, i'll be quite happy to let the rest of you keep this thread filling up with quality works.

Cheers,

Matt.

off topic, did anyone see the photo of the King Wallie statue outside the stadium just before the Brisbane floods?

Some wag put a snorkel, goggles on it's head and floaties on it's arms:hehe:

cheers

Surely you mean 'some wallie', don't you? *groan*
Apologies for that, i just had to do it.:D

Ghosty and JamZac, great shots from both of you.

Matt.

Jamzac, loving the screenies mate, great start, just a little tip, press ALT+O before you take screenshots, to hide spline circles, point levers, etc, to make a more immersive screenshot :)

Ghosty, quality work as I've come to expect from you, you've come a long way, fast :)
