I'm very sure that route is NOT Australian! haha.

Another fantastic shot as per usual. Keep em' coming.

Daniel

A wonderful route to take some learnings from however, and a wonder to explore at that! ;).

I think the same could be said for Andy Turnbull's (Dermmy) East Kentucky in progress. US route... but an Aussie route builder. Honestly, if you you guys haven't already, recommend you checkout some of the artwork in the East Kentucky screenshots.

I believe it's been made clear in this thread and in other threads, David has priorities outside of Trainz. Maybe a bit more consideration needed.

Greetings fellow Oz-trainz-lianz, just lurking from out from the shadows while :udrool: over all your amazing WIP.

Thankfully, I haven't suffered burnout, still overcoming comp problems, but unable to say when it'll make a full recovery.

Haha. Yeh, because the polygon count in those chair legs isn't going to be below 10,000. Nothing big? Hhaahahaha

Infact, anything is possible! One can achieve just as much detail by placing alpha and diffuse image's on singular planes weighing in around 10 polys or less for each leg.

Cheers!

re: walk over

Hi Daniel,
In your screen shot post no. 12587 photo no. 3 would you be able to give me the name of the walk over walkway i think I have downloaded it but can't remember the name.

Thanks so much.

Joe.

Goanna
try looking for the name footbridge in the general content tab of surveyor. then check out any or all listings it shows there.

Joe, do you mean this one?:

If so they're from the "FB01" range, just type that into the DLS search bar.

Hope that helps:D
Daniel

And Forest, how good is that route? It's amazing, I learnt loads from it!

Jamie,

It's called "platform tarmac 5m" and it's built into TS:2010, by tmz06003. It seems that they have made a number of other types of platform beyond those included in the game, so I'm downloading them now. They are very customisable, coming with multiple types with/without white lines, and with the white line as a seperate edge spline, so that you can make custom sized and shaped platforms. As they look very similar to Australian platforms, I highly recognise them (although I think they are designed for the UK).

The fence used is also built in to 2010, and it's "platform fence" or something along those lines. I think it's made by CWS to compliment the stations that they supplied as built in assets.

EDIT: Does anyone have problems with speedtrees? Often when editing my route, I can place some speedtrees, and then after a couple of trees, when I plant more, they don't show up in surveyor, but they are there, as when I go to driver, the trees show up normally. I then go back to surveyor and they are there, and I can plant more :|. I'm running SP3 with the hotfix, and it's not been corrected. It's not my computer, it's pretty top of the line, built for Trainz...

Hotfix? Thats what a virus I have (ThinkPoint) calls itself in Task Manager.

I tried to send a reply to a PM Ronayne sent me and got an error messgage saying his inbox is full. BTW, Pete, Did you receive my email on the non-air hoppers?

Ronayne, I hope it's not a virus - if it is, it's Auran Approved (tm), so it can't be a bad one (perhaps it just makes my computer play lots of Trainz, mmm?). I'm talking about the TS:2010 SP3 Hotfix. That's the "latest" version of 2010 as I understand it, and that's the version I'm running, yet I'm still having that odd speedtree bug, and I was wondering if it inflicted anyone else?

Anyway, here is a shot I forgot to upload last time, as well as a couple of birds-eye view shots of the Linton Yard precinct.

looking over the workshop area (located on the southern side of the yard). The sidings next to the station but outside of the workshop fenceline are the down reception sidings (wagons from down trains were shunted off here and picked up by the local shunter to be shunted into the up yard where the goods shed, loading bank, parcel siding and fuel sidings were).

looking south-east over the town, yard and workshops. The sidings in the foreground under the road overpass are the up reception sidings - same purpose as the down reception sidings, only for up trains!

Raichase do you use anisotrophic filtering at all? Just looking at some of you screenies and noticed the blurring textures.

David

patchy, those are bloody rippers!

Ronayne, search the DLS for "620 Class Railcar" and "720 Class Railcar". There are three variations (CityRail, SRA and NSWGR). When using them, they operate as a pair, the 620 (motor) and 720 (trailer). They can operate in multiple units though, so you can join two pairs together to make a 4 or 6 car train.

Davido, I'm not sure what that is? Is it good? Does it come with cake?
